Re: Mouse & Keyboard Should AT LEAST Have The Ability To Play M&K Only.

@Popa2caps You are not wrong. But AA is not the issue here.

Controller and mouse should never be put up against one another. Of course people would fight and not agree. That's common sense.

Cross play should just be disabled, permanently. Then everyone wins. Mostly everyone anyway, but who cares? lol

Also, remember, for a console player to join your lobby requires a PC player to invite him. So the whole thing is entirely about PC players crying about a problem they themselves create. Think about that for a moment. Stop inviting your console friends - problem solved.

My discussion is about the "option" to play on mouse & keyboard only servers, and not directly about cross-play. That is if mouse & keyboard players choose to use it, still, it should be up to them being the PC ecosystem.

Also, it seems you might be misinformed about cross-play that features gameplay with PC and consoles together. There are games for both consoles and/ or PC players that don't offer aim assistance for the controller users.

    1) Tom Clancy's Siege doesn't have any aim assistance while playing versus real players for both PC and consoles.

    2) Player Unknown Battlegrounds doesn't have aim assist at all on consoles and/ or PC.

    3) Overwatch disables aim assist for all controller users while in PC lobbies.

    4) Valorant doesn't support controllers and/ or cross-play, but there are some high level players that play with controllers at high levels.

This debate about aim assist isn't actually about aim assist in my opinion.

I honestly think most controller players who say aim assist is fine have
    A) Never used mouse & keyboard themselves
    B) Make the argument that aim assist isn't that powerful because they purcahsed a expserive controller, and don't want that purchase to become useless.
    C) Never have played in PC lobbies.

I've witnessed more people directly make false facts about this, just to meet their own narrative, why? This debate about aim assistance isn't the same as two direct arguments like someone saying, "Red Sucks, then someone else saying, 'Blue Sucks".

This is asking if mouse & keyboard players should get the option to play in mouse & keyboard only servers. I don't think most controller users understand what that means.

My discussion is totally about giving gamers a choice.

@Popa2caps I agree with you. Everyone knows that .60 and .40 percent are pretty huge advantages in cqc. I have killed far more mechanically skilled players specifically because they pushed close range without realising I was on controller. For context I am diamond four and have killed masters/preds for taking cqc 1v1s against me.

I honestly don't think most controller players even understand that point of view, but I think I do (correct me if I'm wrong).

These last couple of days I've been using a mouse & keyboard and close quarters combat is super hard. Most of the time I can't even see the person I'm fighting, so I just hipfire (it kind of helps).

Muzzle flash, surrounding area lighting, hit screen effects, evo shield effects, repositioning my mouse, me accidentally hitting the wrong keyboard key...

Now if I was using a controller, just no thought at all. I could sit there all day looking in one direction and hold the space with my beam of death. The only hard part while using a controller is looting or when the analog sticks are to move by themselves.

My Razer Wolverine Ultimate is so bad now. The extra bumpers are loose and just slide around in the controller. The analog sticks need a deadzone of 8% or they move everywhere (linear curve).

I've never used the 4 bottom buttons, they're just in a bad position. My normal bumpers double click when I use them so I ping enemies incorrectly at my location if I ping items.

How is this device being so broken that I can compete in 2K damage games repeatedly? It just doesn't make logical sense when it's so broken, but yet the aim assist just does it magic.

That's the current issue with aim assist in my opinion. It helps on a level that no human could even contest. Sure it might seem subtle, but it just does so much that most don't even know it.

@Popa2caps 0 response curve with 8 deadzone is borderline throwing on controller since you are counteracting the immediate response with a large input deadzone. However if you were coming from mnk that 40% aa would still feel insane cqc. If you really want to see how busted it could get, do fine aim, 10 response, and 0 deadzone with whatever sense you want.

I might have confused you about my controller setup.

I used the advanced controller menu while using the controller in Apex Legends. Sensitivity is 500, ADS sensitivity 255 and all aim acceleration was disabled (0), curve is set to linear (0) with inner deadzone around 7-8%, outer deadzone set to 1.

basically a copy of the streamer, "Extesyy".

The potentiometer in my Razer Wolverine Ultimate is just done, and that's why the dead zone needs to be set to 7-8%. Understand, this isn't a Microsoft and/ or Sony controller, it uses different potentiometers compared to other brands. The analog stick still moves even while at a 7-8% dead zone.

I also don't think anything is wrong with my controller settings as I was hitting high damage 2-3k damages quite regularly (really depends on the match though). I also didn't move from mouse & keyboard to controller, but the other way around. I've been using controllers long before ever using the mouse & keyboard for gaming.

I moved from controller to mouse & keyboard because I felt I was the issue in PC lobbies. New mouse & keyboard users don't get that much damage, and I felt I was causing them to quit playing the game, so I switched input devices.

At this time, I'm sticking with my mouse & keyboard, but I think I totally understand your point of view with CQC and controllers. It was just easy to do, even more so if on console.

100% agree. I just feel like by that same standard console players should also have the option not to play in PC lobbies at all, regardless of input.

Console already does have this option and PC players used to have this option back when Crossplay was introduced.. Like I really do not get console players (not talking about you) saying PC players are cry babies for wanting PC only lobbies just like console players already have as a option and yet at the same time they say MNK is far more superior yet they play in our lobbies and cry themselves when we want our own lobbies like console players do have.

@ZeroGam3z I think players on either platform can play together but console type controllers are not compatible with mouse and keyboard and vice versa.

The big problem for players is that games are not sold on gameplay these days. Games are merely an incentive to take part in a digital marketplace where you purchase in-game content such as skins and loot boxes.

If gameplay was the crucial factor in purchasing a game, you can bet your bottom dollar more care would be taken over fairplay and gameplay.

Because a game is free players shrug their shoulders at inequalities such as cheating, fairplay and loot boxes.

If a game producer depended on the revenue from the price of a game to make money I think these problems would be adressed, as players would not spend money on a game if it had the sort of downsides that games have these days.

Unfortunately big corporations own the means of producing games - the games development studios - and governments sit on their hands and do nothing about the loot boxes and microtransactions.

Cross-play on consoles is strictly between other consoles if I'm correct. Consoles can connect to PC lobbies, but only if invited and/ or using that glitch that was about some time ago if I'm mistaken.

Basically, if you queue up solo on console you wouldn't ever be in PC lobbies. You have to be invited by a PC player to play in PC lobbies.

  • @Popa2caps Yes, true. I told you this before, hence why I say if it's such a problem why do pc players still invite their friends into pc lobbies? It's absurd. My reason for wanting it revolves around the complaint that aa is op from pc players. If we can have our own platform back this excludes us console players from the discussion, and hence the nerfs that will follow to keep the 5% happy that do cross play. One thing I've learnt with nerfs when it comes to Respawn is that they completely break whatever it is in the process. I want no part in this mess. I never asked to play with pc and never will, of course it's not fair - it's a dumb idea. How could it ever be fait to either party? Console can do their thing and the rest can do whatever like it did before this whole mess..
