Re: Madden 20 not connecting to the ea servers

I was seeing the same the same thing with the servers. I’ll double check everything when I have a minute and I’ll get back to you. Thanks.

  • It’s been almost three weeks now and I still can’t stay connected. It kicks me out of games. P2P and the solos. I’m growing very frustrated as I’m missing out on a lot of game play and promotions.

    Would you mind updating your PS4 to use a different DNS server? The DNS is basically the address book your device uses to determine how it makes its connections over the internet. Sometimes changing to a different DNS can help with connection issues like this. 

    To update the DNS on PS4 go through the following steps: 

    1. Go to the Settings menu on your PS4 > Network > Set Up Internet Connection > Choose wifi or LAN cable depending on what you're using. 

    2 Select IP Address Settings (Automatic) > DHCP Host Name (Do Not Use) > DNS Settings (Manual)

    3. Enter the Primary DNS as 8.8.8.8 and the Secondary DNS as 8.8.4.4

    4. Confirm these selections then select MTU Settings (Automatic) > Proxy Server (Do Not Use) > Test Internet Connection

  • Hey Kent, still not staying connected to the ea servers. Starting to feel like I’ve been waisting money on Madden. There where minor issues last year and the year before that resolved after about a week. This is pretty much taken the zero chill promo away from me. I get booted from the server 95% of the time and most of those are in the middle of p2p game play. I’ll open a pack and get kick off the server. Which is not only frustrating for me, but it’s got to drive the people who are unfortunate enough to get paired with me crazy. Running out of options. Every other app or game plays just fine. NO hiccups.

    @jra100908 I can understand the feeling. Disconnections get pretty frustrating when they keep happening over and over again. What sort of troubleshooting have you been able to try on your side so far?

  • Sorry, I didn’t realize that my roommate had signed into my ea account. The whole previous conversation was about this account: jra1725. I’ve tried everything. Reinstalled madden and the ps4 system. My internet works just fine. It just keeps telling me I’ve been disconnected to the ea servers every time I sign in. Maybe I can play for ten minute, maybe I can open a pack, but most of the time it takes six or seven tries to connect.

    Do you have access to a PC on the same network that your PS4 is using? If so, can you try running a UO Trace for me? That will give us a detailed look at the connection between your console and the servers, so if anything is happening along the way we should be able to spot it. 

    For more info on how to run the test check out the Connection Troubleshooting article over at the EA Help site. The results will show your IP address, so if you would prefer sending them to me in a private message that would be fine.

  • I don't have a PC. All I have is a Mac. Still booted from the servers at least four times before MUT is even fully loaded and I'm booted 100% of p2p games, Every other game and app runs fine n my ps4.

    If you've got a Mac there are some different tests that we can try instead. If you go back to that same article I linked before you should see a section there titled On Mac? Run a Traceroute and a Pathping

    Please try running both of those tests using the steps outlined in the article. If you can send me the results in a private message I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

  • madden is telling me I need to log in to EA to play ultimate team, but when I go into the log in window is pre filled in the email with this random eamil that isn't mine and is asking me to fill in the password. How do I change the email to my actual email?

    If you aren't able to access the email address on your account please reach out to the Account Recovery team so they can take a look. They'll see what they can do to verify the account with you and get that email address updated.

    @jra100908 

    I just got the results of the trace route that you sent me. Looking at the trace there's a couple things that stand out. The very first hop is showing some considerable packet loss. That first hop is within your home network, and would be the router or modem that you're connected to. Did you run that trace over wifi or were you using a network cable at the time? If you were on wifi I'd recommend giving it another shot with a network cable if that's possible. That will eliminate potential wifi interference or signal issues as a possible cause of the packet loss.

  • I was using a network cable. Should I purchase a different modem/router from the one that xfinity gave me? If so do you have any recommendations?

    It might not be an issue with the router or modem itself. There are other steps we can try that might help with this. When you've got a chance can you run through the steps over at the general connection troubleshooting article
