Re: Female Shepard - add more romance options (spoilers)

@Tenseijken

I am not sure if this is a troll post, but anyway.

Kaidan is by far the best written character in ME1*, people just seem to overlook this because all the others are interesting-looking aliens. So new players were naturally more drawn to them - plus they got fleshed out in the later games, while sadly Kaidan got the short end of the stick, so returning players are also likely to favor the others more. Another unpopular opinion: Garrus was one of the worst characters up until ME3. He was outright boring in ME1, and he had like three unique Normandy dialogues for the entirety of ME2...
(*Though he comes off as a creep when playing as a female Shepard, the automatic flirting and romance-lock happens way too early, but that's a separate issue, romance overall is pretty bad in the first entry.)

Between male/female opportunities: I somewhat agree on quality of character, but numbers? Counting only "fully realised" romances: ME1 had two romance options for both genders. ME2 had three (plus Liara reunion). ME3 also had four for both genders, but sure, it's dependent on previous choices (Virmire survivor). Though I'd argue that they half-arsed many good romances in ME3 (Thane, Miranda, Jack)...

It wasn't until ME3 that Shepard could actually be in a same-sex romance, be it male or female. Though if you're counting Liara as same-sex, then the whole situation is exactly the opposite of what you're on about here.

And it is not about 2021 or 2010. Making everyone bisexual is just outright silly. They did that in Dragon Age 2 and it made no sense whatsoever.

(Also, I think Kelly can be "romanced" by both genders.)

    I like how different he is from the turian stereotype. He was raised in a militaristic society that above else values law, order, and discipline, but Garrus rejects that because it's too restricting. I think that creates an interesting contrast and a unique perspective.

    Could have been an interesting take and a good "prequel" to Archangel, yes. But in truth, the whole of it is presented in a really bland way. ME1 Garrus simply comes off as a gung-ho character who dislikes his desk job. Also, not much of the turian species is known at that point if a player does not actively read the codex.
