Re: [Steam] MEA not launching after EA app loads

Is it possible that EA can remove the game from my account and re-issue me a new game, that's the only thing I can think of that I can do at this point unless you have any other ideas that might help.

They will not do that without a good reason, and this seems to be a local problem. The EA CM in charge of Bioware games is on vacation itm, CMs themself don't have accesses to this kind of actions but he could take a look as soon as he is back.

Also, I can't find the Mass Effect Andromeda folder in the Documents\Bioware folder. It's not being made when the game is being installed.

The  folder is created at the first start of the game, so it seems the game is not initiated at all.

Did you changed any Windows standard settings whatsoever?
Did you installed the newest drivers for your motherboard from Gigabyte? (Chipset, Audio and so on)

Please create a new DxDiag in text file format.

I didn't enable certain functions that were optional during setup .

    DxDiag is attached.

I'll got to Gigabyte site and see if everything is updated, I'll go through all my drivers again. I didn't do this when I did the reinstall.

Thought I'd mention that I have other games that I play from EA that I don't have any issues when playing them. Mass Effect Legendary Edition (purchased and run through Steam), Dead Space, Sims4, Dragons Age Inquisition, Need For Speed Most Wanted.

Didn't help I still can't launch the game. Now what happens if I start the game from the EA app it closes then reopens the EA app and doesn't even attempt to start. If I start it from the desktop with EA closed, the EA app will open to my EA home page then just sit there. I've also tried running the game as admin and get the same results.

I guess I will have to accept my losses and give up on this game. I'd like thank holger1405 for being so kind as to dedicate so much of her time and knowledge to try and get MEA up an running for me I really appreciate you more than I can express in words.

    You're the best 🙌

Sorry, your reply from the 26th escaped my notifications. (And it is him 😉)

@EA_Shepard Could you have a look at the account to verify that everything is Ok on that side of things?

@seighan Took a look, everything seems fine. I wanted to follow up on this thread to see if you continue having issues with the game!

    @EA_Shepard

Thanks for following up with me. The situation is still the same I can't launch the game. I tried again this morning to download and play the game but nothing and I tried both from Steam and EA.

@seighan Was it able to download through both and not launch, or did it just not download at all through either?

@seighan No worries. It has been a bit and I know you provided one of these but can I get a new DxDiag?

By what you are saying it sounds like something is blocking it.

I've finally solved the issues and can now play MEA!

What I ended up doing is during start up I used the windows repair tool. I kept my personal files but everything else was removed and it repaired my system. When I rebooted and installed my apps again, I have no problems with MEA. However, I will never be out of harms way because after checking event viewer again I have so many errors and warnings it's ridiculous. I spent my day trying to fix them, and they are all Microsoft/Windows related problems, but most of these issues have no known solutions and many people just have to live with it and wait until someone comes up with a solution, or, microsoft gets off their lazy buts and does something about it. Anyhow, everything works for now.

Thank you both for taking the time to help me with this situation. It's been a learning experience for me. In the end I got something positive out the experience, and, I can now play MEA.
