Game takes forever to launch

Question

Not sure what the issue is here, EASHL was acting buggy; not loading me into lobbies, taking forever to leave games at the end with it saying “cleaning the ice” for way longer than usual, commentary stuttering and cutting in and out so I deleted the game and reinstalled

Well somehow this simple step has now made the game perform even worse, it takes forever to get past the initial startup screen with Zegras and Nurse in their full gear when this used to take a minute tops, then it starts to freeze and lag on the EA sports screen, sometimes it gets as far as the puck going by the goalie and sometimes it’s stuck before that when the golf ball, boxing gloves etc are coming at the screen

I can press A even though it didn’t finish but the game continues to run slow and I get a blast of audio all at once that should’ve played during the startup but didn’t

This game is already a chore to play and regularly forces you to dashboard or kicks you back there on it’s own, now I gotta wait an eternity for the game to startup and have it not run correctly because I took a simple step to fix your broken product?

I don’t wanna hear about maybe it’s my Xbox or my network, no it’s your game, everything else worked fine and still works fine, all games and apps and every device on my network is working so don’t give me that BS

I’ve power cycled, refreshed the network, cleared the cache hell I even factory reset the Xbox, what’s the deal? How did I end up with issues I wasn’t even having before?

I guess I should also add that I’m on a hard wired high speed connection with zero packet loss, setup is exactly the same as when I initially purchased the game and there was no issues

@EA_Barry So that’s it huh? You’re not going to respond to what I said? It’s all over the internet and social media how often your game freezes, crashes etc maybe there’s something going on with your game that puts unnecessary stress on the console because I can literally download and play any game except any EA NHL game, yea that’s right, the previous versions that never had an issue now won’t work either, the only games in my entire game library that don’t start right up and work as they should, I don’t think a failing hard drive would have a preference for what games it allows to function and would exhibit other signs of failing like I’ve experienced with other Xbox consoles but somehow it’s only when trying to play your hockey game

@EA_BarryWell would you look at that, I did a full factory reset of the Xbox instead of choosing to keep my games and apps and now the game loads right up

Thankfully I didn’t take your poor advice and fork over money for a new hard drive or console when it’s pretty obvious now, if it wasn’t already before, that it was something associated with your games files, most likely introduced through one of your updates since there wasn’t any issues until recently, that was causing the issue when all other games were working like I said

Stop selling people broken trash retread games year after year that crash and mess with the hardware

This sounds like the hard drive in your console is about to fail.

A replacement hard drive may be required soon so make sure you have anything you need from that drive backed up to another drive or to cloud storage.

@EA_BarrySeems pretty odd that it’s only your game that causes an issue, I just purchased and downloaded a different game and it starts right up with no issues, all other games work, all my apps, Xbox starts right up, no crashes, basically all signs of my hardware being the problem are not present except when playing your game, I should’ve continued to ignore the annoying issues that weren’t present until you started doing updates and adding crossplay etc and continued playing the game the way it was because at least I could still get into games but reinstalling your game after deleting it in an attempt to fix things has now broken it completely where it won’t even start up correctly when it already did that fine before and now it takes forever to load into EASHL games when that was fine too

How does my hard drive go from being good enough to be playing everyday and starting the game up like normal yesterday to not good enough in the 20 minute span it took to reinstall the game?

@EA_BarryI’ll keep posting till I get a response since your initial one wasn’t sufficient and quite frankly it’s rude to not respond further

My Xbox is running completely fine at all times except when attempting to load up your game, the entire Xbox gets bogged down as soon as you try to launch it, even the Xbox menu with your friends etc doesn’t load up correctly when starting up the game

I will repeat this again, no other game or app for that matter is causing or ever has caused this issue so am I to believe your game full of glitches and bugs is too far advanced for my hard drive to handle when it was just handling starting up fine a couple days ago? I literally played a game, deleted it and immediately downloaded it back to the hard drive and in the time it took to download something changed with my hard drive that doesn’t allow it to even boot the game up properly anymore?

If my hard drive it going bad why is it only your game that causes the issue? And again I will pose the question, if it is indeed going bad which it shows no other signs of, maybe all the times your game crashes and boots you out to the dashboard or freezes up in lobbies (this isn’t a problem exclusive to me and my Xbox) messes with the console? It’s not meant to be crashed multiple times a day by your game that doesn’t work properly for anyone not just me
