Same-Wifi Teammates on EASHL Can't Play Together

Question

Since NHL 20 (wow), my brother and I have not been able to consistently load into an EASHL game together. If we manage to both get in the same game we consider it a miracle. This is definitely something EA has intentionally implemented into their games as I have seen many similar cases on the forums of games like Apex Legends and FIFA (EAFC). My brother and I have never once had this issue on any non-EA title (Fortnite, NBA2K, Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto V, etc.) I am wondering if maybe the only fix to this is to implement a VPN on my network? I have posted on these forums a couple times over the years of frustration but there was never a proper solution found. No player should have to go through all these network settings and put it at risk to attempt to get in the same lobby together. Words cannot express how incredibly disappointed I am in this company...&nbsp;&nbsp;

Do you and your brother both have separate EA accounts you're playing on? Also, make sure the NAT is not strict. That is a setting you can change on your router. While checking that, also see if UPnP is enabled.

@EA_Aljo We have separate accounts. Router NAT connection is set to secure and UPnP is active. Both PS5 consoles show as NAT type 2 when checking connection

Thanks for getting back to me. As a test, can one of you switch your connection to use a mobile hotspot? This will help determine if the issue is due to your home network or ISP.

Used a mobile hotspot and we both got into lobby first try. Seems like it's definitely something to do with the home network / router.

It's a router/ISP issue then. Most likely, the router. Make sure the firmware is up to date. Also, you could try setting the NAT to open.
