Re: Franchise mode - Players who have a great season do much worse next year

I'm having the same problem and frankly it's unacceptable. I bought this game on October 6th for early access and first it was the scouting bug (which took them a month to fix) then it was the player substitution bug, and now this. Setting aside the fact that this bug was in there from the beginning (I think) it makes franchise mode incredibly upsetting to play. You draft a player, spend the time developing him and he has a great season, he's an 88-89 player only for his overall to drop to 81 after you simulate, like what?!?! To spend $60 on a game only to see it riddled with bugs in the only game mode I play in INCREDIBLY frustrating. How have they not fixed this? How did they even release this game with this many bugs in it? Frankly this, along with the previous problems with scouting and line chemistry etc made me go back to NHL 20 because that game, while subpar, is at least playable.

@TwoHeadedTOM This is such a disastrous monstrosity of a game.
I haven’t even been able to play NHL 20, as it was so stale. It was hardly a step of from 19 to be honest. But like you’ve said, at least 20 is playable whereas 21 is not. Not even remotely playable.
Having the overall decrease like this is ridiculous. With morale off, overalls shouldn’t be fluctuating so much like that, especially if they aren’t 33-36yrs old. If they’re a young player they shouldn’t see a sharp decline in their overall unless they have something like two bad back to back season then sure. This is a pathetic excuse for a game.
Obviously I’m bitter, but as a customer and fan that’s played the series for years and years, I will continue to voice my displeasure at the awful “game” that was released

@SkylerJames13 It truly baffles me how they released the game with SO MANY problems. While NHL 20 was, lets be honest, a carbon copy of 19, I don't recall any bugs in the single player modes. Now I understand that Covid drastically changed things for everyone, but I mean come on.... I thought the purpose of releasing the game a month later than they usually do was to weed out any systemic problems/bugs and yet, here we are; a month and a half after the release and still MAJOR bugs are there. When are EA going to get there dang act together and fix this game?!?

  • @TwoHeadedTOM @SkylerJames13 I just want this and the many other bugs to be fixed because tbh it’s about time and frankly if it doesn’t I might have to ask for a refund fr fr cuz this is just one of many bugs that makes this game unplayable

@13JOHNNYHOCKEY13 If you have any luck on getting a refund, then let me know. I tried with no luck. I would refund it in a heartbeat if you figure out how

@13JOHNNYHOCKEY13 Yeah something tells me they are not gonna refund. Good luck with it though! I mean I want to play this game and I want it to work but as it stands we can't and it doesn't! Hopefully someone from EA will look at this soon. Though, since Franchise mode doesn't bring any new money to the game I am betting it's going to be a while before they do anything.... ☹️

@TwoHeadedTOM They knew there were bugs when they released and they got paid & go away with it. They think people will buy another one (NHL 22) when it becomes available so we can get a fixed version for another $80 CAD.

@13JOHNNYHOCKEY13 I had no luck with this. PlayStation & Microsoft are pretty bad about refunds. It's different in I think Britain though they have a lot more consumer rights there that protect us from things like this.
