Can't select character in Apex Legends PC

Where did the issue occur? Loading into the match from the lobby
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Character selection
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. Trying to select a character
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? I don't remember. A few...
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? I cannot choose a character to play with.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to choose the character I want among the available options.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no idea.

When I'm at the character selection screen, I can't see the options and can only hope no one will take the character I've chosen before the match started. It someone pick the one I wanted, I have to play with whoever the system chooses for me.

    Hey @AtomicBlue

    Have you noticed any other UI elements missing while you're playing? Are you using any additional command line arguments for Apex Legends?

  • I'm just keeping Origin open and playing the game. I don't know what command line arguments are, but I'm not doing anything else besides keeping Origin and Apex running.

    Also, when the game loses connection and reconnect to the match, I can't see what's inside the deathboxes and Loba's Blackmarket (Ultimate), they all appear empty to me even though people mark content inside.

    Got it, thanks!

    Have you tried repairing the game in Origin to see if that helps at all? If you right-click on Apex Legends in your game Library you'll see a Repair option when the menu pops up. Please give that a shot and let me know if you're still seeing the same UI issues afterward.

  • I've tried repairing the game but I keep having the same issues. I removed it completely and I'm installing the game and Origin again. Also, I've been having problems loading a full squad, the game starts with only one other person or sometimes it even starts with me solo.

    Thanks for giving it a shot. 

    What happens if you start up your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch Apex Legends? If there's anything else running on the PC that could be related that may help get around it. You can find more information on how to set one up over at the EA Help website
