Caustic gas has no affect on aim assist

What happens when the bug occurs? When you are looking into or are inside Caustic's gas there is no impact to aim assist. Bangalore's smoke disables aim assist as it obscures enemies vision, and yet Caustics gas doesn't do this in game. I think this is a bug because it seems pretty inconsistent that smoke disables aim assist and gas cannot.
What should be happening instead? Aim assist should be disabled when in gas similar to how it works with Bangalore's smoke
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Aim at an enemy in gas and move only the left stick and move left and right, you will see that aim assist is still tracking the enemy even though you are in a visual obstruction such as gas.
