Club timeline can show old password as gamertag

Product: Apex Legends
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 4
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? werciax
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible. Filip_Rusher
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)? Revenant
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)? Caustic
Where did the issue occur? In the lobby (waiting area before the match)
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. -
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. I invited a friend to club
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? Yes
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 0
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 06.11.2020
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? I invited a friend to club and his old password became a gamertag in timeline. This would be bad if someones password got stolen.
What should be happening instead? His normal gamertag should appear instead of old password.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Probably by inviting someone others to club.

I cant attach any picture because it contains password.

It's possible that the account may have been compromised at some point. If someone else was able to log into the account they might have changed the User ID while they had access. If you haven't already I'd recommend taking some steps to make sure the account is secure:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/secure-hacked-ea-account

You should also be able to change the User ID on your account as well. For more information on how you can update that check out the EA Help website

    Hey @Werciamat

That's super bizarre. If possible, could you direct message me a screenshot of what you're seeing?

  • @EA_Kent Hi I've also had this issue occur. My old password was shown in the club timeline when I joined.

Thanks for the report! Do you play Apex Legends on any other accounts that are attached to this same EA Account?

    /Kent

  • @EA_Kent No, I only play on this account on PS4. When I checked my account though I noticed my EA ID was my old password. I created my account back in mid-2018 and have played multiple EA games since then and have never seen my ID as my old password, so I don't know how it changed?

  • @EA_Kent That may have been what has happened. I've changed my pass and I'll resecure my account.

Thank you for the speedy responses, I appreciate the help on this.
