Katar effects glitched

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Little to no impact to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? At around the half way point of the blade it has a weird clipping on the nitride vfx where you can see a visible line and the vfx doesn't go past that as it should and does on the other blades including this one on the customization screen
What should be happening instead? The vfx should cover the whole blade evenly as it does on the customization screen and as it does on other blades
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use the nitride effect on the electrum blade

  1. The first screenshot shows what the blade looks like in game and how it has a strange cut off and line where the vfx doesn't quite look right past that point.
  2. The 2nd screenshot shows what it looks like from the customization screen where the glitch is not present and you can see the vfx is evenly distributed around the blade and their is not cut off line or lack of vfx around the bottom of the blade
  3. The 3rd screenshot shows what the vfx looks like on the Gladius blade and how it does not have th3 glitch present and the nitride vfx are evenly distributed along the blade with no cut offs which I believe was the intention with the electrum blade but it just seems to be bugged.

  • The same glitch is happening on my xbox series x and on my pc I tried all settings and nothing fixed it so it isn't my set up or video settings. i have also checked multiple sources and videos of other people with these katars and they are having the same issues as well.

  • Only thing wrong with the Gladius artifact I notice for now is that only when the Cobalt , Electrum, and Gladius themes are applied to the Gladius base none of the power sources make the bottom corner of the blade glow by the handle so it looks strange especially when it does glow when other themes are applied to it.

  • Thank you I know since I made this post I've found more issues and have scattered the information throughout this post and it might make it hard to identify some of the issues. If someone from the team wants to reach out to me and get more details on these visual issues with the artifacts I would be happy to provide the information. They can contact me through my discord "vensit". The main summary is that the dual and triple blade bases have strange graphic lines bunched up usually around the places where the blades become jagged. The effects seem to have an issue with corners or turns with the blade bases and creates these strange lines and a weird grouping of the effect when it comes in contact with these sharp turns. With the rodium the effects seems less like a line or cut off and more like a bend where the effect seems to curve near the middle and it doesn't look right. I also noticed that the nitride katar base has issues where it's particle effects cut off about 2 inches above the handle making the effect look strange and inconsistent as it does not go down the full length of the blade and noticeably stops before reaching the handles. EDIT: Please see below for details and images about the bugs and issues. Thank you <3. I could be missing some as well, but I believe just going through in game and checking the different combinations of effects and blades and making sure they are consistent and visually appealing would make the people who pay a lot of attention to these things including me very grateful. Thank you for looking into this @EA_Mari and getting it to the team. I love buying things you guys put out and showing support however I can. I appreciate that you make sure the quality of your game and it's cosmetics are kept at the premium standard that your players have come to expect and enjoy. Much love <3

    We appreciate you taking the time and effort to report what you have found. The team has access to this thread and they're tracking it all, so rest assured that when I tell you this is being tracked its because I have sent it to them myself. At the end of the day, its the least I can do for the community of my fave game 💖

  • In order to make things easier for the team since they have access to the thread I would like to provide more screenshots and descriptions of the issue to further increase the chance of this issue being resolved. This might take a few posts to get all the information out so please bare with me as I will feel much better once I have gotten everything reported on this thread thoroughly so nothing is missed.

    Screenshots

    These first 3 screenshots are of the Nitride effect on the different blades that are affected by the graphical line glitch. The nitride effect is an example of how all of the different effects not meant for these specific blades react strangely to these blades in particular. Additional screenshots will show that these blade react in this strange way with all the effects that are not built specifically for them.

    3. The next 4 screenshots show the different effects on the electrum blade as example for the effects not showing properly but these effects act this way with all 3 of the blades but I use only the electrum for the screenshots to save room and time when posting. The molten effect will be attached as a file since there is not room for it in the post.

  • This next screenshot is in regards to the Electrum particle effect and how its Galaxy effect seems to stretch out quite far out of the blade making it look quite strange and out of place due to the shape and length it extends out from the blade

    This next screenshot is in regards to the Nitride effect when applied to the Nitride Base and it might be apparent with other effects when applied to the Nitride base as well. The Nitride particle effects cuts short before the end of the blade and makes the portion of the blade just above the handle lack in the particle effects and brings notice to the cut off line where the particle effects abruptly ends

    An example I like to use for the perfect distribution of particle effects is the Gladius blade shown below where the effects extend all the way down the blade and into the handle a bit leaving no gaps and making this combination of blade and effect look amazing and what I am hoping we can achieve with the Nitride blade as well. The corner also looks amazing and is not blank which I will bring up in the next post.

  • This last post is in regards to the corner of the Gladius blade and how in some themes it is well lit and looks great and in others it seems to either not be lit up at all or just partially making it look a bit cut off and strange.

    This is how the Gladius blade looks with the Cobalt theme for example. It looks great up until it gets to the corner and then the effects become absent and it looks strange when it is compared to other themes that do make the same corner shine and have the effects

    Here is another one of the examples of the corner not being lit on the Gladius theme but it partially is lit at the tip of the corner

    Lastly below are the examples of the corner being lit and how it looks very pleasing to the eyes as it keeps the effect consistent through the whole blade on the Rhodium theme.

    The perfect combo of corner and effects below love this and am hoping you all see it the way I do and would like to bring the other combinations in line with this beauty with the Nitride theme and effect on the Gladius base.
