Re: Apex Legends Season 21 input lag and delay

Xbox Series X here, 500Mbs internet, actual ping is 5-6ms. Ping on ANY server now, is at least 40 stable, spiking to 66 a lot of the time. i've only noticed it the last few days, but there is severe input lag, which also seems to affect AA on controller. When I say input lag, it only seems to be input lag in regards to movement and where i'm looking or aiming. I'd aim at a target about to peak, they will pull out from the cover, I'll put my crosshair on them and shoot. Then they will duck into cover again, and THEN my aim moves and my gun fires. Picking up items, using abilities etc doesn't seem to be affected for me. I only noticed because i suddenly started getting beamed in my plat lobbies, which I was starting to grind through, only to be hampered with this. I also noticed something to do with lag, when I'm blatantly behind cover on my screen, but I get beamed and die, even though i'm through a door or in a gibby bubble. The desync and lag compensation seems to be going wild, and it's hugely messing with my AA and aim. I had enough of it, so I uninstalled the game, probably until next season because lets face it, nothing will get fixed.

@NassWaan well described. Definitely some desync/input delay going on and I think that's the reason why AA is not working correctly. I have 600mbs internet, wired and avg 30-50ping on Frankfurt server.
  • @NassWaanI did see the thread with aim assist discussion, what i notice mostly is input lag that's caused by client, aim assist is completely useless when your camera moves with delay it does feel like you fight it that way more often.
I hope to see fix and what i really want is option to disable vsync on console since well, apex is competitive game and user should have an option to do so if they want to i have no idea if it's actually causing the input lag but option to test this out would be good especially when on console it looks glitched with stuttery spikes out of 60 fps range!

@EA_Makois this being investigated? I think this might be the reason for the AA issues in the other thread.

  • I'm starting to think that there is a LOT of bleed over from the firing range. Obviously there was always problems with the firing range etc and people being able to hear and see other peoples firing ranges etc, but i've noticed now that whenever I go into my settings in the firing range, something is ALWAYS different, my brightness is ALWAYS reset, my ALCSs are sometimes turned off, my firing range settings are changed. Dummies resetting cause someone else in a different firing range reset them, them randomly being turned on to shoot. I noticed that my FPS starts at 60, then whenever I shoot or move, it jumps to 120 for a split second then back to 60. Is it possible that there is huge bleed over from the firing range to ACTUAL games in mixtape and BR? That would explain why the game feels different EVERY time I jump on.
