Add disable crossplay option or disable aim assist for console players on PC.

I've been a day 0 player, hit diamond solo every season and have friends who play predator on PC with controller without aim assist. When we play in lobbies with console players they beam us from up close. Even my controller player pred friend thought many times that a console controller player was hacking because he absolutely got beamed by them. Either give us the option to disable crossplay so that we don't have to play with console players or disable aim assist when they play in pc lobbies. Right now it's basically as if you're playing against soft aimbotters in many lobbies.

  • @HansBurgers The problem is that people plug in controllers to make the system think they're using it, and then use a program to have a mouse and keyboard play instead. In other words, they use mouse and keyboard PLUS controller's aim assist.

@HansBurgers 100%. I use a controller and still think aim assist should be removed.

@Midnight9746 Those devices mimic the use of mouse, it's not native, not even close.
  •  @HansBurgers As a console player I'm always confused when other players mention us being capable of things I rarely see. I've also seen PC players one clip a moving target from midrange which I've never seen on consoles.

This makes me curious. Is M/KB more difficult to use close range than it is at a distance? Or have I greatly overestimated what PC players can do based off of YouTube videos? Obviously streamers are above average but I still assumed M/KB was more precise.

  • @Zamaha400 Close range on mkb is a whole different beast yeah. I’d like to think of myself as a higher bracket player. Get many 2,5k damage matches a day and have 3k on most of my legends. I usually reach diamond 3/2 solo queuing. Still, in a close range fight tracking becomes difficult especially with all the visual clutter (shield flashes and what not). Compare that to when I get absolutely shredded close range by a console controller player which doesn’t seem to miss a single shot. It’s insane. Every time that happens to me and my friends it feels like they’re using aimbot, until we see that they’re a console controller player. Like I said, I have friends who reached predator solo playing on PC with controller and aim assist off and they can’t pull off the same thing that these console players a few ranks below them can. It absolutely ruins the game for me.

Depends on the sensitivity the player uses.

High sensitivity players fare better in close range.

Low sensitivity players may struggle a bit more.....but they may not if they are really tuned to their sens.

I play on a very low sens, and stuff up close requires bigger movement.  I don't necessarily struggle, but I am much more precise at longer ranges...that is the honest truth.

  • You probably overestimate what M&K players can do. Whenever you watch some YT video it most likely features players that are very good. It's not just aceu or ImperialHal that are good. Many no name players are very good as well. Their content massively distorts the idea on what the average skill is on M&K.

M&K is way more precise for midrange and long range fighting. However in close range the aim assist of consoles is extremely strong. I have it happen so frequently that I crouchstrafe like crazy and still I get melted for 150+ damage. And when I check the player is a controller player. Then I spectate them a little and they are absolute 🐶💩 at long range. Zero recoil control, they don't hit a single bullet from a full mag but that same player lasered me for 150+ while I was in full movement.
M&K meanwhile can also be very precise but it is very easy to overaim because it is just your raw input. The game doesn't slow your aim down so that you stick to the enemy. If you move your mouse too far to the left then your aim will follow. There is zero correction.

And all these close-combat encounters where I get melted for 150+ damage by a controller player that is later not hitting anything at range cause me to have zero respect for controller players. Of course there are extremely good players like Daltoosh (and many other unknown ones). But for the average controller player I have zero respect because imo it is 99% aim assist that does the job.

@HansBurgers First sorry for the late reply. Laziness. What you just described is what I'm starting to suspect the M/KB experience is like.

Most console players assume M/KB to be more accurate at a distance which another poster seems to be confirming. I always assumed that if you could melt a target from mid/long range then you shouldn't miss shots up close. So thanks for telling me about the PC experience.

I'm going to try Apex without Aim Assists when I'm home. I don't seriously listen to PC players describing the console experience or vice versa. Everyone exaggerates how difficult their side has it so it's only worthwhile hearing about M/KB talking about what the M/KB can do.

@Zero-Loot5 I plan on testing Apex out with and without Aim assist. It also felt a little stronger when I lowered my sensitivity so plsn to test that too. Given I play on console and have never seen a controller player melt anyone 1v1 I'm skeptical when I hear experiences like this.

Obviously I see players get melted when there's a massive skill gap or when they're ambushed but never in a fair 1v1.

It's possible that aim assist feels stronger at lower sensitivity or that I'm so used to its help that I don't even notice it. It's also possible that PC players are exaggerating or dealing with cheaters who happen to use controllers.
