@HansBurgers As a console player I'm always confused when other players mention us being capable of things I rarely see. I've also seen PC players one clip a moving target from midrange which I've never seen on consoles.
This makes me curious. Is M/KB more difficult to use close range than it is at a distance? Or have I greatly overestimated what PC players can do based off of YouTube videos? Obviously streamers are above average but I still assumed M/KB was more precise.
You probably overestimate what M&K players can do. Whenever you watch some YT video it most likely features players that are very good. It's not just aceu or ImperialHal that are good. Many no name players are very good as well. Their content massively distorts the idea on what the average skill is on M&K.
M&K is way more precise for midrange and long range fighting. However in close range the aim assist of consoles is extremely strong. I have it happen so frequently that I crouchstrafe like crazy and still I get melted for 150+ damage. And when I check the player is a controller player. Then I spectate them a little and they are absolute 🐶💩 at long range. Zero recoil control, they don't hit a single bullet from a full mag but that same player lasered me for 150+ while I was in full movement.
M&K meanwhile can also be very precise but it is very easy to overaim because it is just your raw input. The game doesn't slow your aim down so that you stick to the enemy. If you move your mouse too far to the left then your aim will follow. There is zero correction.
And all these close-combat encounters where I get melted for 150+ damage by a controller player that is later not hitting anything at range cause me to have zero respect for controller players. Of course there are extremely good players like Daltoosh (and many other unknown ones). But for the average controller player I have zero respect because imo it is 99% aim assist that does the job.
