Aim Assist is very powerful at close range.
Find R99, Car or Volt - I one clipped 2 players in a squad with purple shields from close range and I was shocked myself thinking for a moment I was actually good then watched replay clip to show my hit markers sticky aim like glue.
I would prefer it forced off as controller player too.
We need to keep in mind that getting rid of aimassist would ruin careers

@matzesingtWhy should that ruin careers, they are pros ... arent they supposed to adapt to the rules , they jumped on the assist bandwagon for some reason, in this case they have to hop off ?
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/full-body-swimsuit-now-banned-professional-swimmers/story?id=9437780
Literally the same story, smth technical that got banned in professional sports. wasnt a huge issue to get back to what it was before, ok some record lap are now hard to beat , but we will get there.
Or take the F1 for instance, they ban new stuff by the season. teams complain but still drive on top the next races ... - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable
@r1ggedgameYes it would ruin careers, I think even recently imperial Hal did respond to such a question of his viewers what would happen with verhulst and his response was that he would have to kick verhulst…and tsm is not the only team with mixed inputs, so many teams would have to drop their players for that reason. This would have serious impact on the whole proscene aside from all the issues that would come up with contracts and so on.
Keep in mind many of the controllerpro‘s did not jump on some bandwagon, they played controller their whole life.
I btw hate aimassist myself but sometimes it’s wise to look at the whole picture and not just from your own perspective 🙂 - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesingtyour right, its about perspective. a pro that cannot adapt and relies on an automation is the same a a swimmer that was good with the turbo suits and afterwards just sucked. if verhulst is such a good player, he would not have a problem switching the input device (like the MnK pros did by switching to Controller...), that is what defines a pro, being ready to adapt to the circumsatnces, as they do ingame ...
Same in F1, driver was good on v8 engine, now sucks on 4cyl turbo ... has to adapt to the new regulation, and if he cant ... not that good of a pro to begin with.
Not the regulation kills their career, players not willing to adapt destroy their careers - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable
@r1ggedgameThe problem is alrdy that your comparison is wrong, because you compare two different things, if you want to compare it with swimming you would have to do it like this:
You can swim with your legs or arms both is fine, and then when you realize with arms is faster then you decide to give swimmers with legs a boost to compete so people specialize to swim that way make contracts and so on and then you decide to take the boost away and screw them over
Verhulst is in fact a good player and many other controller pro‘s are aswell.
But he is a pro with a specific device, forcing him to swap away from it is just not right.
Name me pls all the mnk pro’s that moved to controller and actually sticked to it, because in reality it’s not even a handful of people. - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesingtyou dont get it. if the regulation changes you have to adapt, if you dont you will be gone. thats how it works in the competitive field. if you trained on controller and the assist gets banned, uhhh bad luck for you having bet on the wrong horse i guess. nobody makes you not playing controller, but without the assist. he can try to be good without the assist. nobody is forced to swap.
Rules change to keep the competitive integrity, if aim assist has to go bcs of that ... that is just the way it is. - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable
@r1ggedgameI understand your point, but I could switch it arround and say why you don’t adapt to the current set of rules ?instead of wanting them to switch the rules in your favor ?
They need to adjust aimassist to reasonable to make it equal in close fights and that’s it. - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesing no, you cant switch it around. the assist is an artificial helper where as the mnk input is raw. assists always break competitive integrity at one point, so they have to be regulated.
"Oh i trained with Clenbuterol my whole life and now they are banning it, the others should just go and take it too ..." thats not how it works 😉 - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable
@r1ggedgamewhat about the regulations about mouses and their drivers ?
Since mousescripts/macros are undetectable and used by many, isn’t the integrity gone alrdy ?🙂
So shouldnt there be only one mouse allowed with a specific driver supplied by respawn to ensure the input is truely raw ?
As i Said before removing aimassist at this point is impossible without significant backlash.
Respawn will not screw over half their pro players and literrly every Pro Organisation that made contracts with controllerpros etc. - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesingtmouse drivers and macros are 3rd party artificial helpers ... technically forbidden to use. if you get caught, your gone and prolly burned for life as with any other cheat software, i could also bring those strike packs and cronus adapters to the table , but thats all cheats.
So why are you even mentioning that, has nothing to do with the actual discussion ? Which MnK pro is using those scripts ? I guess none ...
The discussion is about how much assistance can be tolerated in a competitive environment, and in my view no assistance should be allowed since it it not the player that controls those things.
Giving MnK a similar assist to counter the effects is a really bad idea for the competitive approach, makes people rely on those things and destroys the raw aspect. i wanna see if a pro players aim is cracked not if he can operate with an assist. - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
"As i Said before removing aimassist at this point is impossible without significant backlash.

Those ORGS also had no problem in exchanging MnK players with Controller ones just to fit with the meta, so why should it be a huge deal the other way around if the meta changes again ? - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable@r1ggedgame It does have something to with the discussion since that allrdy hurts the competitive integrity to a point that the whole integrity argument has barely any value for the aimassist debate. Nobody gets caught because it’s undetectable and can even be saved directly on the mouse so not even a software needed, so as long as you can use your mouse on a lan you can also use those macros safely. We don’t even start talking about programming aimbots onto your mouse wich even happened in the past
Very naive btw to believe none of them is using it.
As i Said i am with you but it’s simply not going to happen anymore, respawn will not screw half their playerbase and especially half their proscene - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable
@r1ggedgameThey did change those over time and they didn’t get forced to do that from one to the other day.
not to mention the mostlikely huge amount of players and pros that would just leave the game
and one more time to clarify I wish aimassist never made it into get game, but i am realistic it’s here and it will stay 100% .
all we can ask for is to nerf it to bring it in line with mnk when it comes to cqc
- r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesingtyou clearly dont get the discussion, its not about cheats, its about the players being assisted by default ... why are you always circling back to the cheats ?
nothing to do with people using hacked mice/controllers whatsoever bcs that is illegal as is doping in every other sport. Cheating is a complete seperate topic, so please dont mix those 2 together.
Also pro players leaving their source of income bcs they are not willing to adapt to the new rules ? seems highly unlikely , a pros skill isnt solely defined on his ability to master the input device.
There is much more to it (eg. tactics), otherwise they would not be pro at all. i know a lot of exceptional aimers, way better than actual pro players. but they mostly lack other qualities needed to get pro.
Verhulst for instance would be up to speed in Apex as Mnk in literally in no time, bcs his understanding of the game doesnt vanish by changing the controller type.
Yea he might need a bit of time to get warm with it, but that is what cuts the "men from the boys" or the pros from the casuals. - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable
@r1ggedgameI will continue to mix them when you try to bring competitive integrity as an argument in a game where undetected cheating is possible
- r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesingtyea and by that you show me that you dont understand the discussion at all.
You seem not be able to differ between 3rd part tools and the ground rules that are set by the game itself, having one party given an assistance to make them able to compete. That breaks the integrity before a cheat app is even written for the game. - matzesingt3 years agoNot applicable@r1ggedgame Nah i do understand it, but i simply don’t use something that doesn’t exist in the first place as an argument
- r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@matzesingtoh it would exist if they would have went with one set of controls from the beginning. thats why i say it breaks it ... and dont reason with 3rd party stuff. there is pretty much competitive integrity in CS:GO, Quake Champions ect. (every title that is played with one set of unassisted controls), despite people trying to use cheats over there too.
Ever though of why there is no discussions about it in those titles ?
Its always the mixed environments, especially when you have to assist one.
Make controllers fit the task mechanically and not by software helpers and the discussion is more or less over.
The gyro approach seems to be quite promising.
The Baseline should be : everything has to come from the player himself and not from an assisting piece of software, no matter if its builtin the game or installed as a 3rd party app
