It's not all dark, though. Having Vulkan and Linux being backed up by a tech giant such as Google means there is now more incentive for companies to improve related drivers and development tools. It's not a coincidence that AMD just hired 10 people to work on their Linux drivers, only one month before announcing they are providing the hardware for Stadia. If Google's project is successful, it will force devs to get familiar with the Linux/Vulkan ecosystem and mature it to a point where releasing a Linux version has almost zero cost...
