This is one mode, where Mirage actually can perform at it's best. Oh, those countless bamboozles, lol.

Kudos to the OP.
When I first got into the game, I found br to be cumbersome, long, and very very confusing. Arenas for me, was the ideal training ground, where I could learn how to make use of the environment around me, how to move, and how to start executing strategies to take out a squad, in preparation for doing the same on Battle Royale.
The new mixtape modes are absolutely atrocious. My kdr has suffered drastically since the elimination of arenas.
Arenas seem to be nice and stable, and highly enjoyable. Sometimes I would get beat, while other times I would lay the smackdown. Some matches were very very close, well some were complete and utter walk. At the end of the day, I would look forward to my next turn. I learned incredible strategies, and it really helped to develop my gameplay.
Instead now I'm left with mixtape modes where I have yet to score a win, unless of course you count to team win, but that's usually one person carrying the entire team because they're either that good, or their hacks are that good. Furthermore these mixtape modes are riddled with bugs, for example on control, I can only respond at basecamp, while the opposing team can respond wherever the hell they want. Or in the case of team deathmatches the lobby is 10 out of 12, it doesn't balance out to make the teams even. Gun run matches that are done in less than 90 seconds. This is somehow more preferable than a stable fun play mode?
Battle Royale is still not an appealing option for me. Like one of the posters said, arenas was very much like chess, just in a first person shooter mode. I may not have been the best, in fact I never got out of bronze if I ever tried ranked, nevertheless, I found the mode to be highly enjoyable and would play for hours on end.
Switch your mixtape back to LTM, and return arenas. Even if it was only a pub rather than ranked , it would still be better than what is offered today. It would also ensure me remaining a faithful and paying customer.
@Aldebera Kudos to you too man! I'm glad I'm not alone. And I too used Arenas to master characters like Lifeline, and to learn how to use characters like Newcastle! Arenas, it seems, was "underrated" amongst Apex players overall, which is beyond me because the mode is so masterfully crafted!
