EA user agreement - Rules of Conduct - only covers "text chat"

I was reading the "Rules of Conduct" section, it is all about text chat, but what about voice chat? here are a few lines of that section:

  • Interfere with or disrupt another player's use of an EA Service. This includes disrupting the normal flow of game play, chat or dialogue within an EA Service by, for example, using vulgar or harassing language, being abusive, excessive shouting (all caps), spamming, flooding or hitting the return key repeatedly.
  • Harass, threaten, bully, embarrass, spam or do anything else to another player that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated

Honestly, there were many cases that people just harass you or spamming, just by mic and nothing else. All reporting options you can find in Apex are 1) cheating  2) text message  which means no one can chase or follow what you said in your mic.

I can get suspended or banned for typing "F U" (with caps lock!) but my teammate can get away by literary shouting that in his mic. I don't have a mic and I liked Apex, because you can ping anything instead of talking, so there were some cases where I've been seriously harassed by teammates saying whatever they wanted in their mic, and when I typed answers with the same language, I got a warning and I can not prove that it was a diluted response to what they actually said... so just as a heads up friends... if someone said anything to you on mic, do not type as text message, because you will be judged one sided!

I'm not supporting this behaviour, and I suggest you all to avoid this and if you faced such teammates, just mute them, instead of responding in any ways, but I hope as a feedback, they understand that this reporting system has issues, when one can tease others to get a simple two word respond and then run away safely, like he was innocent, since the only option is "report text message" and no one will check voice chat.

We all know how toxic can be a competitive online game, and we all know when a game let you use mic to talk, anyone can say anything, but there is no way you can report or prove a harassment happened on "voice chat".

    @Alphabets I'll reply back with the mic if they curse/swear. Best, simplest solution. Also it is a shame for not being able to mute the chat for someone (at least I don't know of any chat mute at all in this game).

    @Astropithecus_93 In the game if you go to the inventory, you can see there are 3 tabs there and second tab let you see your squad; on the tab/menu that let you see your squad, right under each squad mate, you can see 4 tiny white boxes, one is like a speaker and one is like a text message icon, by clicking on each one of them, you can mute the teammate (text chat and/or voice chat)

    Still there is no clear way to report voice chat. How can you report and prove voice chat harassment when you don't record every single game?

    @Alphabets Due to laws all voice chat is recorded and stored in log files for most companies. It has to protect the users from terroristic threats racism and more. Even up to death threats. It has to be recorded for those purposes. What they wont do is tell you if the other party was also banned or suspended. But the evidence of such issues named above must be stored for x amount time.

    @E9ine_AC I always get emails from support when they act against someone i reported but it only happens for text chat i receive some of the worst racist abuse ive ever heard from people
    On mics report it and have never received a email from support saying it been acted on
    Dont get why i get so much racist abuse as im not black but im sure if support actually listened to the mic chats there would of been some instant perm bans people saying they hope my parents die of cancer that i die from it slowly and painfully calling me the N word alot apex legends is hands down the most toxic game i have ever played i quit playing for over half a year due to it came back and its seemingly worse and always in ranked and if i quit because i wont earn a score for someone who gets themselves killed thinking theyre rambo then racially abuses me telling me i should die a slow and painful death luckily 2042 is released this week so i can walk away from apex again which is a shame as im reasonably good at it

    This thread is actually quite old so I've locked it to prevent further necro-posting.

    That said, as mentioned we're typically unable to share actions that have been taken on someone else's account, however we absolutely do not permit any abusive language regardless of whether it's done via text or voice chat.

    Please be sure to report any inappropriate chat whether that's in Apex, BF2042, or elsewhere, and we'll investigate to make sure the appropriate actions are taken, thanks!
