Graphics Card Fan Loud Even In Main Menu

First of all, I love the game, the mix of Overwatch elements together with some of the most popular BR games is majestic 🙂

My problem is that my graphics card fan starts spinning like crazy as soon as I get to the game's main menu. I have tried lowering the graphics but the fan is still crazy. My card's temperature goes to almost 80 degrees Celsius as soon as I reach the game's main menu. It doesn't make any sense...

I played Titanfall 2 and never had this problem, neither in more powerful games (like Anthem / Battlefield 5)

My rig:

MSI Tomahawk B350
Ryzen 7 1700
Gigabyte RX480 G1 4GB (overclocked to 1330 / 2100)
16 GB of DDR4 RAM

Thanks in advance.

I have, it's really weird! GPU load seems to be at 100% all the time, while CPU is at 12%

Try turning on vsync to limit the FPS. Not sure if its the case here, but in some games the GPU runs amok without limit when in menus resulting in 500+ FPS.
  • Good idea! I tried doing it in the game options but couldn't make it work. I think I'll just limit it in Radeon's software 🙂

  • I fixed the issue! In Radeon Settings, Global Wattman, I reduced the Power Limit from 50% to 40% and that did the trick.

Thanks for the help though 🙂

Hi I have the same issue but I'm really new to the pc world. How exactly do I turn the power supply down?

If you want to limit fps use +fps_max

    vsync just adds display lag.

Be careful with that, considering you have your card OC'd,

by lowering the power limit you may cause your OC to become

    unstable.

I would suggest lowering your OC along with voltage.
