L-Star out shoots a 99?

I just got out shot with GOLD armor by a wraith with WHITE armor and an L-Star. ALL MY SHOTS LANDED. How is that possible?? Is that new?? Or have I been under a rock thinking the L-Star sucked??

    L-Star does more DPS than the R-99. Issue is it overheats so fast you WILL melt the lens (22nd shot) to get a kill with it, meaning you generally have to go through 2 'reloads' per magazine. Combine that with a very limited total ammo pool and a slow swap speed, and you don't get many people ever picking it up. But yes, it does do some serious damage if you are able to land your shots. Also, don't forget that SMGs only deal a reduced 1.5x headshot damage, while the L-Star deals the normal 2x headshot damage.

L-STAR has high DPS crippled by an annoying overheat mechanic and a rather low projectile speed. Aiming for the head is a great way to quickly down or chunk unaware targets, but your chances of downing a target that has average movement skills drop significantly once they notice you at every distance. Yes, even point blank.

    Honestly, I think the L-Star needs a buff. You know what'd be great? Remove the magazine completely. Put all the ammo it has into it and have ONLY the overheat limit it. So you get an LMG with 120 rounds that never has to reload. Keep in mind you still melt the lens after 22 shots, and you still have a very limited total ammo, so I don't think it'd be OP at all. Certainly would make it actually feel worthy of being a supply drop only weapon. Main downside is that we wouldn't get to see the reload animation anymore, but I think the pros outweight that.
