More Cheaters than Ever

Just spectated a player named (wont name player by name - but the name was basically flaunting/taunting that EA couldn't ban him for cheating) after he/she downed my squad in about 3 seconds. Default skin. Level 20. 19 kills in that game.

Hit every single head shot (and was so bad he almost died a bunch of times even with the ability to headshot players without aiming at them).

I am not a data scientist, but isnt there some type of algorithm that can at least narrow down who is most likely cheating based on accuracy, number of kills, level, velocity....etc? Seems like creating a game like apex would be pretty difficult, yet the devs cant figure out a way to mid-game ban players who are ridiculously obvious cheaters?

  • In my region there has been a huge influx of chinese hackers. This is because of  Steam connectivity. Not much we can do about it really.

    Even if someone had an Aimbot it would take more than 3 seconds...

    Are you aware of Conor Ford? If not, and you have a Twitter account, message him or Tweet him and ask him about his job and cheating in Apex.

    Conor Ford is here fixing the problems and while I'm sure nothing is 100%, I seriously doubt there are more cheaters than ever.

    I've been playing since Season 1, there aren't more cheaters now, than in the past.

  • Yeah. Day 1 player with 13.6K games. I think I can spot an obvious cheater. This guy was 100% cheating and not even attempting to hide it. However long it takes to empty a havoc (assuming purple extended) is exactly how long it took to down my entire squad.

  • You are not wrong.

    I have seen quite a few bs players in s7.

    s6 I barely noticed anything.

    @Irres169You are right and wrong.

    So the cheat system is run by easy anti-cheat. This means it is Easy Anti Cheat who is screwing apex legends. They are not doing their jobs to prevent this from happening and allowing it to continue and happen.

    Now... Does this mean they should not have their own in-house methods of stopping or detecting said cheater? In my opinion no. It is quite obvious that the system in place at this time just does not work. Countermeasures need to be built on all ends of the project.
