PATHFINDER GRAPPLE IS TOO SLOW POST NERF

Im a Pathfinder main with over 3250 kills and I absolutely loved him because of his high skill ceiling. The better you are with the finesse of the grapple, the better plays you can pull off.  I do agree that he could practically get out of most gun fights with a well aimed grapple and swivel, so I saw a nerf coming, but I thought it would be increased cooldown on his grapple.

However, this 33% decreased grapple speed nerf was way too much.  On the patch notes it distinctly states, "Reduced the grapple projectile velocity by 33%, meaning it takes a fraction of a second longer to connect the grapple to the wall.  The behavior once you are connected stays the same."  THE BEHAVIOR ONCE YOU ARE CONNECTED STAYS THE SAME.   This is upright a lie because his movement while grappling after the impact is decreased as well and he feels incredibly sluggish.  It also seems as if his momentum while grappling has been greatly reduced and he cannot achieve the distances and swings that he used to.  Even with a 6 sensitivity on console, (mind you I mastered his grapple and could pull off the craziest plays you have ever seen) it feels incredibly awkward and laggy trying to pull off the grapples where you look in the opposite direction to achieve momentum.  Not to mention I have a clip of myself shooting my grapple at a surface, seeing the animation and hearing the sound of the grapple impacting the cliff, yet the grapple is not pulling me or connecting at all.

I could understand why you thought he needed a nerf.  God knows anyone who doesn't main Pathfinder is screaming from the heavens begging for a nerf, but this 33% is grealty impacting his movement while actually grappling after the initial impact.  I believe the 33% was way to much and maybe a solid 20% would be a better option.  I hate to see the day when I stop playing my main (a character based on agility and finese skills) because he feels too slow.

Please stop lowering the skill ceilings on different parts of the game to try to cater to low skilled players.

  • @dlpaulson12 High skill ceiling?

He is an easy legend to use once you realize the grapple can swing you to reach farther/higher heights. Not much skill there in my opinion.

The nerf was called for and made him balanced, now I can finish off players who shoot at me once and try to run away.

If you want to use a legend that takes skill, go for Octane, he has agility and finese if you know how to utilize his jump pad in all situations.
  • @iBlockHead  to be fair i've seen some highly advanced pathfinder grapple plays that i couldn't pull off myself, its more than just angling it requires a lot of precision to pull off the real breathtaking pathfinder grapple plays.

I ain't gonna turn my nose up at this debuff...it makes him a lot easier to kill but i don't feel it was truly needed, pathfinders been nerfed more than any other legend so far...its getting a little crazy.

Its the only legend that need skill. The only reason for the nerf is allow the camp players to stay on the game. The grapple, on the actual map, must be longer and quicker, not slower.
