Reporting toxic teammates: does it make a difference?

Why are the high rank teammates always the most toxic ones? Of all the master/pred teammates I had during the last two years, there have only been a few that weren’t toxic towards me, and only one of them was actually nice and team-oriented. How ridiculous is that?? Yes, I don’t have your skill, but I try to keep up, give you all the loot you want, res where needed. But all I get is trash talk.

This is the very first time I reported someone because of harassment and hate speech towards my relatives, and at this point I honestly don’t even know if it makes a difference. He only spoke and never typed so he probably gets away with it…

No matter who you play with and what their skill level is, if they’re trying their best and be a helpful teammate, that’s all I ask for. I would rather have a less skilled player that gives me a shield cell when I need one, compared to the epic player that might secure the win but is toxic all the way.

    @Solim66

    I can only speak for myself but my "rage" or rather frustration doesnt really come from teammates doing less damage but rather how they play. The worst thing I know is fights when you literally is 1v3ing, knocking two enemies and cracks the third before getting knocked and when you think the last enemy is gonna be a piece of cake for your randoms, who you know should be full health since you tanked all three enemies just seconds ago, you realize that they are standing in some corner, trying to execute the two guys you knocked to get all the loot instead of helping in the fight =)

    Here are just two examples of two clueless randoms that just happened in my games this morning (no naming and shaming; everything censored) ,and my point is that when things like this have happened 10 games in a row, you can get a bit frustrated and maybe show less composure and understand the 11th game, thats all =)

    First video:

    The video starts right after me and a random Loba just knocked one enemy and cracked the second but she got knocked and I lost almost all health . I jump down to res the Loba. Up to this point have our Bangalore literally done NOTHING in the fight. So instead of trying to find the third enemy to keep him off us, what he does when I goes for the res with 10 hp is to start run in the other direction (watch the minimap) . He even drops an airstrike between us and himself as he runs! No pings or anything, he just runs away. I am playing Seer and have no movement abilities so if I had tried to follow, I would have been slowed and blinded by the airstrike and probably killed. So I continue the fight knocking one more then backs off immediately because I think that this Bangalore and Loba have had time to get back into the fight so we could 1v3 the last remaining enemy . But what do I see when I look at the minimap? They are STILL camping in houses they fled to.

    But this is not what got my frustrated. After the Pathfinder knocks me, this Bangalore sighs loudly in the coms...I just wonder;  how the hell can you sigh when you do nothing to help and just runs away? Why even play this game if you dont want to fight when a fight breaks out? And ask you can see after we all got killed; Bangalore 44 dmg.

    Second video

    First of all; I dont say I played this situation that well. My biggest mistake was that I missed the camping Octane and pushed to far. But anyway: The video starts after Ive done 88 damage to the first enemy. Our random Loba jumps after him and kills him as I pushes towards the remaining squad. Notice that I, just like the first video, always is up in the front, soaking attention and damage. But then I do the mistake I mentioned earlier and have to jump down since two guys are shooting at me at the same time. But when I do this, our noob Caustic gets one-clipped as soon as I  am not there up in front to tank everything. And he starts to rage at me going "so bad", "u hit anything?" followed by "useless".

    But here is the thing; when we die, its revealed he has only done 60 damage and still has the nerve to criticize. I mean I did more damage on the first enemy that we killed that he did during this entire fight.  What goes in someone's mind when they think it was my fault that he died when he cant even do 100 dmg as soon as he has to tank some enemy fire?

  • @Theta101 Don't get me wrong. Good players never going to listen or follow bots. No offense, dude, but when someone who plays every day is put on a team with someone who plays once per week, it's disastrous. I'm not telling you to follow the good player but the only way to avoid aggressive alpha players is to play alone. The alpha player is easily recognizable - 4k damage, 20kills badge, master or predator trail. A very, very small percentage of these players will be good to you, but most of them play to win and kill, not to carry the weak players on their backs. As one streamer used to say - if you play the game every day but don't make any progress - go back to the cs 🙂
  • @Theta101 In the first seasons, the strong players treated the weak ones well, but it is already banal. 10 seasons later, the game forces the strong players to carry the weak on their backs, so the strong ones just mute your chat and voice and play solo, they have no time to deal with you. You can see for yourself - most professional apex streamers play alone when warming up because they do not intend to carry bots. Better find 2 friends to play with or go back to cs go - FOR REAL.

    @DaBabyDa If the "aggressive alpha players" think that random teammates are dead weight, then why aren't THEY playing solo? You're suggesting that weaker players should play solo so they don't bother the alpha players, which absolutely doesn't make sense to me. If they are so alpha and sweaty, let them sweat alone instead of being toxic to teammates. Taking all the loot, pushing solo between two fighting teams, getting knocked and then the mic goes on just to throw some insults at me or wishing that my relatives die a horrible death. Very classy stuff. If this type of behaviour is common amongst the top tier players, no wonder people think gaming communities are toxic.
