Why are we waiting? So done getting killed by players with Pred badges in Plat... as a solo queue player.
People have been waiting for this for seven years, and they're still waiting. The game has been unbearable for a solo player with above-average skill for several seasons now. You can't play anything other than Wildcard (excluding ranked games) because in pubs you spend more time matchmaking than actually playing. Wildcard, on the other hand, is unplayable because 20/30 people are Axle. So the circle closes - either you play an unbalanced game (read Wildcard) or you don't play at all this season.
It's like mocking your own players.
I thought they added in years ago a bump to the algorithm where a full stack would match higher than their average. Did I imagine it? Am I thinking of some other game? Did they do it and then rescind it? Only to add it back in again now?
I don't recall anything like this ever happening. For many seasons now, my solo q has been a joke. This season, I feel like it's even worse. A mix of predators and bronzes in pubs, but of course, I get those bronze players :)
Another aspect I don't see brought up as much is how duos will completely ignore the solo on their squad. They will abandon their solo to res their friend, often resulting in the while team dying. Also, too often they are comming on Discord, not in game chat, except to tell their solo q teammate to uninstall or how bad at the game they are, or be super toxic when the solo doesn't push the same fight at the same time as they do.
Honestly? If I see a duo with the same tags, or... like [HER] and [HIS], I just look for the next game. Considerable experience and hours spent in this game have already shown me that playing with such duos is significantly worse than having every player in a three-person team solo Q.
In these games, I'm only needed to replenish the squad and get the game started.
90% of the time, these duos never want to cooperate and always play alone, often constantly drifting away from you without any communication or ping.
It's the worst in ranked (esp gold/plat), and you can't just leave and re-queue. The hardest part of getting to diamond is navigating through these ranks with teams of duos that think they know everything and their solo teammate is a burden to the squad or unaware of how to play their legend.
