Start Banning Smurfs

SBMM is bad, but constantly running into smurfs and having bad teammates makes it so much worse, start banning smurfs and any accounts linked to the same device/ip of that smurf account, this won’t f...

@FaIIenAngeI777 Could never happen, It would be impossible to ban an account on the allegation it's a smurf. Someone could say it's their brother's account because they have one PC between them, and I'm sure there genuinely are people who do have to share with family members so it's nice for them to have their account too.

Smurfing is only here due to the really bad SBMM system which isn't putting players into an equal playing field, It's putting players like myself into games where 9 times out of ten there are pre-made squads twice the skill level.

I don't agree with smurfing, and will never do it myself, but I understand and am sympathetic as to why people do it.

There's no way Respawn can prove any second account is to smurf as there's plenty of valid reasons for more than one account on the same PC. They can never fairly ban an account, so as long as SBMM stays the way it is, so will smurfing.

Guess we all gotta get used to it 🙂

@VoKks9 I understand the family excuse, because I thought of that myself some may want to share a pc, but lets be real if someone gets high tier badges when they just started the game they should be flagged as a smurf because idc how good someone maybe at other fps games its kinda hard to do if they are actually a new apex legends player because they have to learn the controls, legends abilitys, hitboxes, etc

    @FaIIenAngeI777 You make a good point, but how do respawn have the right to look at an account and say ''we know nothing about you, but we're just going to assume you're not capable of the badges you've earnt, and we are going to ban you''

    Do you see how it would be impossible to determine a smurf from someone genuine?

    Also, the biggest smurf accounts on the game come from the big guys, the streamers, the content creators. Soar_Kobi has been doing solo queue to predator challenges on several new smurf accounts lately. Respawn would have to ban all of these guys too.

    I do understand your frustration, I'm far too familiar with getting into games with people 10x better than me. SBMM is the cause here, and increased smurfing is the effect.

      @VoKks9 If someone usually plays on console, but has to make a new account to play on pc like zeus did to be elligible to participate in the competitions Im fine with that and don’t really consider that smurfing because crossplay isnt available yet, I havnt watched any of SoarKobi’s videos in a few weeks so i would have to watch them to understand what your saying the last video I remember watching was him talking about how rude he was back in Season 1 lol and laughing at how he was playing

        @FaIIenAngeI777 To be honest, there probably isn't one pro/content creator out there who hasn't made a smurf account. Dizzy openly admitted on stream he was playing on a smurf account in the ranked mode because the queue times in predator were too long. Staycation said in one of his recent videos that ''SBMM makes it much more difficult to create content''. All these top players are smurfing all the time to create content for their viewers and Respawn is fine with it. If they implemented a ban on smurf accounts it not only affects the people who genuinely need more than one account on the same pc but most likely they ban the majority of their competitive scene.

        If respawn allow the top players to make a smurf and destroy players in a bronze lobby. Then that says it all, unfortunately, as long as you continue to play Apex, you're always going to run into smurfs.

        I'll have a look at that video you mentioned, sounds funny 😃 I've only been watching him a few weeks.
