Two Simple Wattson Tweaks

One of the main issues with Wattson is, her fences are visible and easy to destroy. Caustics can hide traps around corners, and Rampart barriers are incredibly useful in comparison.

Fences Change

Fences should stay dormant (inactive) until a player approaches, in which they instantly zap to life. This would be similar to the Caustic trap's proximity, maybe a bit further or shorter.

Another interesting change came to mind when Wattson was saying one of her salty quips about heat shields. So I thought: What if?

Pylon Change

Wattson's ultimate can also work as a stronger heat shield. "They want to cheat? Let's see who can cheat better!"

  • @MemeManShad It think the Fences need to stay like they're now, because the fences aren't traps, they are a security perimeter, something to scare the enemy for going to that place

@MSwampertEXI do feel the fences should be better at their job somehow, right now they're incredibly easy to spot and takedown with a bullet or two to the point they serve as a false sense of safety most of the time. The only times I find them useful is blocking off ziplines and doorways that have large enough stretches that you can put the pylons out of sight from the other side. The main issue is, what can be done is kind of lacking to keep them as a security feature instead of something trap-like. The only things I can think of off the top of my head is making the pylons smaller so you have more freedom in placement/harder to hit them, making the fence block bullets both ways, or making them go haywire when broken so the fence disappears but the pylons still act as a dangerous spot to go through for a short time.

On the other hand, the passive I agree needs a rework. A focus on her shields would be more interesting in turn for taking away the double stack of ult accels. Some ideas I've seen that were cool is the evo shield taking ring damage for Wattson, or just flat-out buffing the passive regen to be equivalent to Octane. Perhaps even both would be fine. Another interesting idea is her revive being boosted in some sense, such as giving an extra cell or two when you revive someone/self revive.

@EEAAITSINTHEDLC This is true too, the only times it can be scary is if you know there's someone on the other side ready to shoot you. If your team is already engaging them, you can just slide through without a care or quickly break the pylons.

@MemeManShad Maybe an idea for the passive could be deleting her passive healing and making her punches heal 15 of health on hit, so she could be a little more agressive an have more longevity up close and personal

@MSwampertEX any sort of melee changes don't rub the right way to me, it's a majorly gun-related game and punching is a last resort. Having boosted melee won't help in a ranged fight, and would probably be more limiting than an overall passive like her passive shield regen. Keep in mind, the passive shield regen also partially acts like a no flinch to an extent, so it's actually really good even at .5 per second.
