Idk why people are talking about lower TTK... where are figures for this as for me it seems exactly the way it was for past now almost 20 seasons I have been around. Give or take a millisecond maybe.
This game was and still is known for:
a) cheaters and noone really getting banned for it
b) close range fights
c) many players not even trying to aim just push gun as deep into enemy's face as possible and hipfire
I would agree that a few tactics regarding hiding health now are obsolete, but I would rather fix that via say mechanics where enemy's health bar (white) appears only when shield is broken not both bars appear at the same time.
Regarding damage tracking, people tracking and other factors - irrelevant, incorrect or minor difference makers imo.
I personally love health bars because:
- people don't need to call out damaged as they did before (most dumb ones still do, and still call "1 shot" on ppl that clearly are like 100+ :D) -> you fall into "1 shot" trap pretty much never, because you see your teammate is yet another ape not a human :D
- bars removed visual clutter of numbers, especially hard when you start hitting multiple close standing enemies and two / three sets of numbers pop-up. I actually was playing with no damage indication what so ever to declutter my visuals.
Pushing tactics = always been there, especially by controller players (27 seasons in, most of them still can't take anything but a fight 20m or closer, preferably 10).
Movement legends are a problem only to controller and bad mnk players, I have 40%+ tracking score on intermediate/hard tracking tasks in aim trainer, I have no issues tracking even Ash dashing in game.
Also keep in mind the elephant in the room - you can not really say what is the issue in fights given game is littered with hackers who will keep killing you bars on/off/any other change made to the game.
If you watch legit teams that are legit good, they will W into a squad very rarely because they know that even a 1 person in Apex can do enough damage to knock for sure one, in many cases if W + brain off is applied two teammates and maybe even clutch 1v3 more so 2v3.
Those pushes off one "super nade" that managed to hit one or multiple people for 100 (khm khm aimbot) are happening only for two reasons:
1. hacks - people just know that they will outshoot you because aimbot wins over any aim
2. most aggressive people know that (especially if they 3stack) that enemy team more often than not are soloqing / badly coordinated, will start playing for themselves, not cover open ground while teammate heals, will heal instead of fighting while enemies push through the open...basically they just outplay you via tactics knowing that after initial damage it will not be 3v3 but at best 2v3 or as in most cases 1v3 1v3 1v3 and you rarely lose those if you coordinated and somewhat good
Long story short: even without seeing your gameplay, I could bet there are plenty to improve (much of what was said above) to give you better results vs just removing health bars.
