If anything, they should rather make friendlies more distinguishable even though I dont think its necessary at all. There is a highlighted outline around friendlies that doesn't exist on enemies, and since there IS a difference,there IS a certain skill that determines how "well" you identify a friend from foe. So why reduce the skill cap even further by giving everyone a "soft" thermal sight?
Whats super buggy on the other hand, is when you aim at a friendly on longer range, and the game randomly takes 1-2 seconds to load the name above the player model.
