Why can a Gold league player play with a Bronze?

I'm not saying to take everyone's K/D or W/L ratio from when they started playing the game. They should've started a tracker for it when they released their ranking system so everyone would start off at zero. Sure there would've been a few here and there that weren't good or were good that started off at the rank that they truly aren't. But with a couple of weeks under their belt, with no matter how much time they were able to play, they would've made it to their respective ranks, or at least close to it. Because the merit awarded should not be based on the amount of time one has to play. It should be based on pure skill. If you think about it, we wouldn't even be having this conversation if they had just done this from the start. Because you say your friends are good enough to keep up with you, then they would be the same rank as you. 🙂
