Why did console aim assist get a huge buff for this season?

I understand the new map being mostly medium - long range but why buff aim assist so hard? For those of you who don't know, PC players explaining that controller players had aim assist and tracking,...

@fuzzykeuh Yes, PC had 60% assisted aim while Consoles had 40%, I still don't understand the full reasoning behind buffing aim assist to console except to help newbies. This is just another nerf to skill in Apex.

The aim assist your referring too being cranked to 11 is mostly modded controllers they get mod packs and its pretty vicious but its tuned higher for PlayStation because the statistic for players on ps4 performance is not good at all. The sales for modded controllers and software for ps4 are insanely high as well so they are more often then not going to be a major problem when it comes to cheating. You could tell respawn but they wont do anything at all.

    I can really feel the assist when dropping, i make a freaking 90 degree turn
