Why SBMM ''cuts out the middle man''

I literally went to the trouble of resetting my password and logging in here to say this. I plan on making my own post as well, so I’ll keep it brief here, but I no longer am able to even play with my friends anymore. I have a group of 7 that are regularly on and I am the best of the group at Diamond 4. My group and I have had actual conversations about how they used to love playing with me but now they only que up with me begrudgingly because they know the lobby’s I drop into every, single game. 

To your point, I know that I’m an above average player. But I am not even close to being in the same league as every other person in my lobbies. And this is in casual! If this were ranked I would understand, but THIS IS A PUBLIC LOBBY. 

Ultimately, I’m frustrated because not only am I instantly killed in 8/10 matches now, but I cannot even play with my friends anymore because of the lobbies I’m put into. i love Apex and I appreciate Respawn, but if this continues the player base is going to continue to shrink as die hard fans like myself stop playing simply because we can’t play with our friends anymore.
