As somebody who depends on energy weapons for everything, and has for the last three years or more, the changes have been... challenging? Yeah, let's say challenging. There are upsides to the new system, but there's a lot of down too. My current theory is that they've tuned the recharge for top tier players. The rest of us, who have to spend four or five times the ammo for the same result, are left spending a lot of time standing around waiting for the gun to come back online. To say that this makes gameplay not fun should be as damning in the eyes of a developer as any other criticism I could think to make.
Fewer arsenals is not good. Making them invisible from the drop ship is as good as randomized weapons on the map. Not really sure what purpose they serve anymore other than as a way to upgrade attachments. Which is still useful since, as you noted, there's next to nothing of any value on the ground anymore.
Once again Respawn looked at the loot situation and made a bad call. It used to be season after season of devalued loot pools. Then it was stable, and pretty good, for quite a long time. Now it's back to being too thin, even with arsenals, weapon drops, and bin resets. It all adds up to lousy weapons for the first three quarters of the match. I guess it's supposed to be some kind of consolation that everyone else has crap guns as well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ideal loot pool balance means that careful, methodical looters should have high odds of getting what they want, and impatient hot droppers who don't take the time to gear up properly should not get decent kit. That's the balance they should be seeking to strike. Work should pay off. Depending on luck should not. But, this game has gone out of its way over the last ten seasons to stop penalizing impatience. At this point they're actively looking for ways to reward it. Which, imo, is completely antithetical to the mechanisms of battle royale as a game type, but hey, what do I know?

Couldn't agree more.

Same;
Many changes that don't make sense, no one asked for and actually moved the game backwards or into a place that is actually less fun, and more frustrating.

I’ve played for about six hours this season as well, but I didn’t find it enjoyable at all, so I haven’t really been playing lately.If the goal was to reduce the amount of time spent looting, they should have increased the number of items that spawn and raised their rarity.

I'm still adapting to it.
Maybe it's a way to top hot dropping? if it is, it hasn't worked.
Why hot drop in ranked when the best way to level up is to get the best placement (being 1st of course is best), smart survival over early-game fights.
What I really dislike this the 'forced pushing' for energy weapons, they're everywhere, and not much else.
