any tips for a noob like me?

• Go into training mode and figure out what guns and sensitivity you like best
• Learn the environment in games and what places are better to drop(refrain from hot drops when starting out)
• Stick with your squad and learn the pinging system
• Don't rush into gun fights unless you have the upper hand

Those are just a few of many to get you started.

Everybody is new at some point.

My tips would be:

1. Enjoy yourself. That's what you're here for but Apex can be pretty brutal so prepare yourself for that and don't forget to have fun.
2. Start making some friends as soon as you can, as playing in a squad is what Apex is all about.
3. Save up your Apex Coins and crafting materials until you have a good understanding of what you can buy with them and how they work.
4. Use the training mode to get used to the game before trying the multiplayer and eventually ranked. Also try out the events as they are great fun.
5. Pace yourself when doing challenges and try to break them down into individual goals to make them easier.
6. Everybody is always learning so feel free to use the forums to ask any questions. We're all happy to answer.

I’d say do completely the opposite except for the ‘all the above’ one. Care about stats, makes you competitive. Care about stats, makes you cautious. Don’t laugh at your game anymore than you would laugh at tough opponents in real life. Get angry... make it your drive.

Some key tips and tricks.

• Watch the map, don't engage in a fight when your team cannot follow up.
• Use heights to your advantages, aiming down is easier than aiming up.
• The position is key, being out of position can send you back to the dropship in no time.
  Always make sure a teammate has your back.

Don't get frustrated with leavers, the leaver penalty will deal with them :P
And of course, the most important: Have fun! 

Best tip?

Just apply your brain tbh. You don't have to be the best FPS player to win games, good positioning and timing go a long ways to winning a game.

Combine this with the rest of the advice you've been given and you'll improve pretty quickly.
