Interesting. It seems logical, on the face of it. We have a few PS5 guys here. I'll tag @hayhor for one.
I'm interested in hearing your takes. Not really in your opinions about the idea of lowering the aim assist strength, but your observations of whether the enhanced video performance from next gen is enough for any such change to make sense, as it does for PC.

@pandareno1999 The 60 fps is certainly pretty stable and the rendering distance seems better, so I mean there is a notable performance difference between ps4/ps5.
Now when we look at the reality of the matter which is that not everyone in the PC community is running top spec setups then yeah, I would say next gen consoles are probably are on par with what the average PC user is running in terms of hardware.
Lowering AA to 0.4 isn't that a huge leap anyway speaking as somebody who has played every AA strength setting available.
- 4 years ago@pandareno1999 I'm playing on 0.4 already so I'm not bothered by it personally. And I think it would be safe to assume that they would bring about the nerf on both old and new generation consoles because of potential backlash. As for the performance upgrade - I would be ecstatic about it if I were on PS5. I think those extra frames will def matter if you have a compatible screen, perhaps not make you a better player, but just in overall feel. If the potential is there for the hardware to run it that way I say utilize it.
Bit off topic, but I've been on the fence about upgrading to PS5 for a while now, and this makes it tempting to me. But seeing that I play both pc and console I'm also wondering about just choosing one platform and sticking to it as it's cheaper. Having said that, and looking at the current prices of GPU's vs what you actually get on PS5 it actually makes more sense to just go full blown next gen console for gaming for me. And I think if MNK support was a legit thing I could actually see many people doing this instead also. - 4 years ago
@pandareno1999I actually don’t mind it and the PS5’s performance is great having a solid 60fps. I don’t think that it would change anything that drastically. However, will this change affect the rest of the consoles or just the newer gen consoles? How about the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X players? Having discrepancies between console performances isn’t a new thing as well as playing on a switch is a nightmare for me with 540p resolution with low 20s fps. LOL.
I won’t buy a new tv/monitor just to play apex at 120fps too so the next gen version of apex isn’t as desirable to me as it wouldn’t change anything (for me).- pandareno19994 years agoHero+
I figure the link is a typical Apex "news" clickbait video? I didn't watch it The reason I asked my question is that the OP implies that this would only apply to next gen consoles. That's what I find potentially controversial and interesting.
- 4 years ago@pandareno1999 Thordan, the youtuber, showed that there are codes in the files already pointing out the dualsense and the xbox series X/S controllers so he feels that it (next gen version) will come out very soon. With that, he also assumed the accident nerf of console AA to 0.4 can somehow be connected to the upcoming next gen version.

@pandareno1999I would be fine with .4 AA and would happily move to it for 120 fps on my ps5. I've tried it and it doesn't change anything for me other than maybe I adjust my ALCs a little.
PS5 already is enhanced vs the PS4 version. I can see more in the distance with greater detail now due to the locked 60 fps. People on ps4 not using the performance display would be shocked at how often they are less than 50 fps and dropping frames(hint: almost all the time).I'm not holding my breath anymore on this update tho. Thordan makes a lot of clickbait daily videos now, some of which are completely wrong. If he goes the ddos route he will have fully converted into the waterboy.
