Banning of 3rd party devices such as xims zens on console

I think it’s about time the devs take action against people who have to use xims/zens and things of that nature on console I’ve found it ridiculously annoying when I’ve been beamed by someone 200m away from me there needs to be a better anti cheat for this if you guys actually cared about your player base you’d do it you can even check amazon eBay and a lot more websites that sell these devices

  • They can't handle wallhacking and macros, what are you talking about? Cheaters are so rampant in this game that it's unplayable on PC. XD I don't know about consoles, but PC is a real dump. In Joker, you have a wallhack that lasts a few seconds after killing an enemy on purpose, because they probably know how many people abuse it and are trying to "even" the odds. It's so ridiculous... This game is dead (in terms of fairness of the game in every aspect) along with the sound in it.

Are you crazy? Thats like 3rd of apex playerbase. Game would die if they do that.

I would say close to a half of the player base...

  • On the one hand I would agree, on the other hand if you read about the issue it is present in all games basically these days which indicates two major things:

    1. it is impossible to ensure 100% hack free game experience as hardware and software evolves daily, businesses are set up to evolve hacks as it makes so much money
    2. where there is something to gain -> many will do whatever it takes to gain it

Unfortunately what I see is that hardcore gamers are becoming major minority = players that have time and motivation to aimtrain, vod-review, try out new mechanics and tactics, are good in communication when playing team games.
Most players are just outright lazy. Add cross-play and controller input that in fast phase FPS games is/should be a disadvantage and you create a whole lot of people that complain about it and them not being able to "achieve high ELO/rank" = devs because of money stream have to adjust giving them basically aimbot which over time as Apex shows is not enough and people become lazy to pay attention = get wallhacks, movment scrips, lag introducers to create hit-reg issues etc.

We requires devs to do all the work yet take no responsibility as COMMUNITY:

    • it has been posted (not only in Apex) that number of players actually reporting hackers is more like 5% of THE WHOLE players base -> people not only are unable (sorry dumb enough) to spot hackers but even more so again lazy to press those few clicks to report them
    • many fanboys / girls follow streamers, pros that clearly are hacking just with addition of IQ vs you "regular dad who bought a XIM" and thus create false standards of server stomping, 4k / 20 bomb cult, not losing 1v1s etc.

If we as majority of the community would become more involved, not play with hackers, drop games if you get matched with one, report them all, unsubscribe from streamers and pros that can't be fully trusted, support regular "average" players (ones that actually be top dogs in fair game environment) who are just mechanically sound, can explain how they play the game, why they do things they do = teaching others how to play. Apex would be a much better place.

Instead Community is lazy, boost buying, profile buying, hacking cesspool of "gamers" + ones that just auto-pilot (for unknown reason) through games with clearly no motivation to become better aka your silent ranked players who are ok with winning but seem to be as ok with 20+ game losing streak.

The cheating is way out of control right now.  I left the game 6 months ago over this issue and the hit reg issue that is so prevalent in this game, but I came back just because of the community and I still get a fun match now and then.  I play on Switch and PC and in my opinion switch is the easier platform to play on right now since PC has at least 5 times as many cheaters, and is near unplayable as Retired Caustic was just saying.  Also, using the motion controller on switch is probably the closest you can come within the rules to using MnK on console, so in that respect it is better than PC.

I disagree though that banning these devices and other hacks will cause all of the playerbase to leave.  I think these people enjoy the game, but as Esh just said they are lazy and don't want to learn how to play.  I am willing to bet most of these people would stay, but would slow down and actually learn how to play once there was no more ways to cheat.  It shouldn't be that hard to ban this stuff, if a gun fires all of its rounds in a split second instead of the usual time it takes a gun to empty its rounds it should be a ban.  If a gun locks onto a target without the person bothering to aim then it should be a ban.  If a person uses movement scripts and their feet don't touch the ground after a certain amount of time and they didn't use movement mechanics that come with a skill, then it should be a ban.  If people are draining the servers to deliberately cause lag and the system senses one player is draining the memory allotted to the game, then it should be a ban.  These things should all be able to be set up automatically in the game's servers where it won't be necessary to detect a device or hack, just detect this type of abnormal behavior in the game regardless of how it is happening.  This wouldn't be a perfect solution, but it would probably crack down on 90% of the cheating.

What I hate right now is they aren't removing people currently from mixtape matches like they were doing 6 months ago when I left.  Back then it would give the player's name and say they have been removed from the match, then it would say "abandon penalty no longer active" so people could decide whether or not they want to keep playing even though its not a fair lobby.  They desperately need to start doing this in mixtape again since the lobbies are getting pretty bad.

Yeah I cam back just to really have fun, not press too hard and see if they dealt with stupid Pred feeding matchmaking -> realized that not + hacking is worse :D
