I have been so focused on being anti-strong SBMM, that maybe I have insulated myself from what’s really best for the community.
So please, change my mind:
“Players should always play their equals and everyone should hover around the same win ratios. Skill should NOT determine who wins more in non-ranked matches. Every match should elicit the same effort from the player, regardless of their skill level. Everyone DESERVES to win, and for the most part, everyone should win at the same rate (by virtue of playing their equal).”
@Axs5626Sxa5001 I kind of see your point but the argument is deeply flawed. Different people play different ways.
If you are serious about winning you'll drop somewhere quiet, stick to edge of ring and try to survive as long as you can. If you are someone who likes to hot drop and get stuck into the action ASAP and constantly looks for fights - all things being equal - you will probably win fewer games.
I like to mix it up but hot dropping has it's advantages. There is nothing worse than tooling about, kitting yourself out with amazing gear just to get lasered by some aimbot bozo from 200 yards with a flatline. Good honest fight out of the gate seems more fun but guess it depends what you are after.
