@johnmiceterThere is definatley sbmm. The issue you are seeing with teammates who are new is because the game tries to queue very fast and because of this tries to even out teams. So they give one good player newer or poorly performing players in the hope that the good player can help the others. I get it too and I'm not even good at the game. The 3 stacks you see are because the queue wasnt full and they got lucky. It also has a huge squadding factor. My lobbies with friends are typically a lot more difficult than by myself. And others I play with say the same thing. There are also long and short term factors. All of it is to try and ensure every player has good games and stays engaged in the game. If the queue times were longer, the matchmaking would be more fair but remember, this means your opponents would be better across the board.

My conclusion, when the priority is given to speed, then skills take a second, or third if not lower spot. Then it isn't Skill Based anymore, but SPEED Based Match Making.
Coincidentally both acronyms coincide, both are SBMM.
