- reconzero4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Axs5626Sxa5001 I'm not sure what it says about the game, or gaming in general, or player psychology in general, when someone can legitimately say "winning is not enough."
- @reconzero Well lets see -
1 - Winning a game without seeing anyone the entire match and the last two other teams died in storm resulting in a win.
2 - Not getting a single kill or damage point, because your two smurfing teammates wiped the lobby before you could generate a point.... and won the match.
3 - Your teammate was a Seer and pinged every legend, where they were and won the match wall hacking merrily along the way, eliminating all game sense.
I am sure there are more, but that is just a few examples or when "winning is not enough." At least in my opinion. I am sure you have had matches where you have won, and I just didn't feel very satisfying for whatever reason. Personally, I would rather play well and lose, then any of the above and win. 1 - Winning a game without seeing anyone the entire match and the last two other teams died in storm resulting in a win. Been there done that in Ranked whole team had 0 kills 0 dmg we never even fired weapons, yes we played for position but we also were looking for a fight. a very unsatisfying win.
2 - Not getting a single kill or damage point, because your two smurfing teammates wiped the lobby before you could generate a point.... and won the match. Well not that bad, but when I get 3 kills and 2 assist and decent dmg yet my two smurfs account for 22 kills or so combined and we win is also not all that satisfyingly either.
Have not really had the Seer thing since S10 happen.
I agree I would rather have a good game 4-6 kills with 3-4 assists and getting out played in a 3v3 in final circle ending up in second where the team that beat you had about the same stats.
- @Asmodeus566 Yup, been there too....My other son and I played trios in pubs, and got a random teammate that left us at drop and all we heard was "Enemy down, whole squad wiped" lol...over and over, we were dumbfounded. That guy wiped the entire lobby as we tried to keep up with him. Was insane, never saw anything like it. He was playing Octane. He ended up with 43 kills and over 7000 damage. I won that match with an impressive 0 damage and 0 kills. I was on fire. : )
The Seer experience was Season 11 launch and my Son used Seer with me as LL in a duos match. My Son told me not just where everyone was, but what their health was, and pinged every single legend we came across and we would just go in and eliminate. We won that match with ease it was disgusting. Never felt so sh*tty ever playing a competitive game before like I did that match. It was awful. Didn't even have to think. My Son immediately after the win said to me, " that was disgusting, I will never use him ever again."
My faith in Respawn making good decision towards the health of the game died that day. : (
I am glad you didn't have to experience that. Honestly dying in Frag upon insta drop was more satisfying lol.
Whaaaat OMG that is 75.43859% of the lobby.
Hacker/cheater? or was it ItzTimmy smurf account? I suspect the former and not the latter. Could it have been @KelRiever I hear he likes to leave his teammates as they can drag him down sometimes 😉
GG either way because you were smoking hot and totally on fire there.
I never had a game that unbalanced for or against me.
Hahaha, I didn't want to assume he was cheating, but dam! If he wasn't, hats off to whoever that was - he's got mad skills. I definitely wouldn't want to be his teammate for a second time. My fragile confidence couldn't handle it. I don't want the win that bad. As it is, I have too many wins I did not deserve. ; )
- reconzero4 years agoSeasoned Ace@NickBeam27 Okay, this I get. I've quit these kinds of matches before, though not because I'm too proud to take the benefit of someone else's hard work. It's because when I see one player get 20 kills in a 60-man lobby then I assume he's a cheater and I'll never understand why numbers like those don't result in an auto-audit by whatever it is that passes for anti-cheat in this game.
But, yes, you're right: there is such a thing as "winning is not enough." - @reconzero Thanks! I actually had to think about that one lol. But it didn't take me long to remember the wins that just felt, well, gross for lack of a better word.
I figured he was cheating, but didn't want to assume without any proof or being able to spectate him myself. We couldn't even keep up with him to see what exactly he was doing. But dam, never heard so many, "enemy down, another enemy down, whole squad wiped." My son and I were laughing, but more that uncomfortable laugh when you're still trying to figure out what the f*ck is going on. Hahaha
