@MandatoryIDtag Actually ping is factored when looking for a match, you're always placed into the closest possible game(not sure if to the data center you're connected to or to you), the other condition being that it's within your skill bracket. But this is a game with many concurrent players, there's a high chance that you don't catch a seat on the closest server beause it's completely booked (that's why we see so many "server full" errors at the start of new seasons).

@DoYaSeeMe Hold on, afaik you only play on the servers that you selected on the main menu screen(with an asterisk sign on top). Is there any proof of this btw? Genuinely curious.

- 5 years ago@DoYaSeeMe Thanks. Haven't experienced this myself, though I have seen some 'not-Asian' people on my team and thought they just wanted to play on Singapore servers. My ping was usual, so maybe they were put on different servers as you said. Maybe a dev can confirm it in the present day.

@BaldWraithSimpThe reddit post is from Jon Shiring, which was the lead network engineer for Apex / Respawn until the start of this year. He was probably in the same position for Titanfall and came from Infinity Ward, where he worked on some Call of Duty titles, so he has a lot of experience. I'd look for more posts from him.
