I bought 880 exotic shards on the steam platform apex, and the items that can be purchased with exotic shards in the mall don't add up to 880, but why did my exotic shards suddenly disappear, it's where you don't have a place for me to consume, why do you want exotic shards to expire I really can't figure it out, my money is not wasted, please return mine, I've emailed customer service many times and didn't get any response CM Edit: Removed all caps

Hey @AAAXQZ123 if there are legal restrictions and requirements in the country you are residing related to in-game digital items expiring then there's nothing that we can do about this. Our teams are required by law to abide by the rules and the best thing I can recommend is to lobby for change. Will pass your feedback on. Darko

@AAAXQZ123 Certain countries, (such as Japan) have laws that places an expiration requirement on any bought in-game currency, (such as Apex Coins and Exotic Shards), as such, these currencies sadly expire 180 days after they're purchased on accounts living in places where this law applies. This also means that EA/Respawn won't be able to restore any expired currency.

Seeing as most of your coins were purchased on May 8th 2024, those coins would be expired as they're more than 180 days old, (as of today, (November 18th, 2024), these were bought 194 days ago).

It's obvious that I'm not Japanese. As a player, I'm just playing games. Why do I need to learn about the currency laws of the local country? When I made my purchase, you didn't give me any warning that buying game currency in this country would expire. Plus, I bought so many strange fragments that there's no way for me to spend all their items in your game store. What should I do? I don't want to spend, but you don't have anything for me to buy, so can you let me lose my belongings and the money I spent for nothing? Isn't this a scoundrel? You also said that my fragments were purchased for 194 days, and you haven't updated any items that I can buy for 194 days. Isn't this your problem? I don't think it's my fault that the item has expired. I still think you need to return my fragments to me. Currency can have a deadline at any time. For you, game currency is just data, and Japanese law allows currency to have a deadline, but you can completely return expired currency to players through email. Why don't you do this? You are a game company, and everything you get comes from players. You don't consider players from their perspective, but care about Japan's damn laws? And then let the players who support you be disappointed with you. I didn't ask for any compensation from you, I just hope to get back my strange fragments, which I bought with money

@EA_Darko I’m curious how players use RMB to purchase in-game currency on Japanese servers. If players were using Japanese yen to make purchases, I think EA could handle it that way. However, the issue is that it’s clear players are using RMB. When EA receives the payment from players, they should be able to identify the players’ region. If this issue remains unresolved, I believe the player base will continue to decline further.

@EA_Darko As you mentioned, players simply want to retrieve the items they paid for, and there is no need for EA to challenge Japanese law. If EA truly respects the laws of each country, why did you replace the loot box items on Belgium servers with clearly priced items? (Following your approach on the Japanese servers, you should have removed those loot box items entirely instead of selling them in another way.) This proves that you have the ability to compensate players for their losses but choose to do nothing. I'm very curious—what kind of insurmountable technical difficulty is there in reissuing expired items via email? I believe that the players still playing Apex are those who deeply love this game, but your actions are undoubtedly accelerating Apex's decline.

This is a very easy problem for you to solve. National laws are just an excuse for you to disrespect the interests of players. Apex is doomed.
