My in depth suggestions for future apex legends balance changes and feedback

Dear forum viewers, I usually do not post on forums but some things have come to my attention and I would like the developers and you all to take a look at my suggestions for future balance changes and feel free to POLITELY give feedback and provide your own opinions on these subjects.

crypto:
-give drone 50 hp, which replenishes when he recalls it.
This is because currently at any range fast shooting weapons are most effective as the drone only needs to take 1 damage for it to die, it doesn’t feel right choosing to use an auto-pistol or r99 to spray on a drone at 300 meters instead of a sniper. It is also because it currently only takes 1 round of any weapon to take out which is not even a slight hinderance for most weapons in combat.

-make drone transparent much like mirage's invisibility used to work, but only when the player is not controlling the drone.
Currently using the drone in a stationary position in a fight with more than 1 potential team is a bad move as 3rd parties can see the drone from a long distance and almost always take it out which means you'll be without abilities for the rest of the fight, also when enemies get scanned and they have a window for 3 seconds which is very likely, they'll just look around for 2 seconds and take out the drone which again makes your legend useless for the rest of the fight.

mirage:
-make pressing and holding his Q open a wheel where the player can customise which illusion he sends out, having the options between illusions of his squamates.
when players are aware that they’re fighting a mirage, his illusions don’t fool anyone as they simply run by and are far too easily identified as a fake.

-make his ultimate spawn illusions of his squamates as well.
currently his ultimate spawns a heap of illusions, all mirage, which is an easy indicator that mirage has gone invisible which makes it more of a negative effect.

-make his ultimate spawned illusions walk in the direction that they spawned.
the heap of illusions that mirage spawns never fools anyone and making them walk in a direction has a higher chance of making people confused to what is real and what isn’t.

Bloodhound:
-make bloodhound have a 15% movement speed increase when near an enemy track.
currently tracking players is more of a chore and less of an interesting experience as you rarely find tracks of players and when you do the enemy team is likely far ahead without hope of bloodhound ever catching up to them.

-draw lines between enemy tracks so it is less confusing which way the enemy moved.
when trying to track players usually all the enemy squad mates run through each other’s tracks which means you'll be extremely confused over where the enemy has moved to and from or if you’re looking at tracks from another enemy squamate.

-reduce the cooldown on bloodhound’s scan.
bloodhound's scan currently has an extremely long cooldown, while it is intended to also scan for tracks its cooldown is too long to dare use it to find tracks.

Caustic:
-buff caustic's gas damage to a fixed 10 damage per tick.
caustic has an extremely hard time on open ground currently as his hitbox is large and his abilities have very little effective use on open grounds, buffing his gas and removing the damage tick build-up makes his strong urban warfare side more powerful and far more consistent.

Pathfinder:
-increase all his ability cooldowns and reduce the ranges on his abilities.
currently pathfinder stands far above almost any other hero in effectiveness this is due to his abilities being too useful and too effective at their job, turning his strengths down will make other heroes more viable for competitive play.

Wraith:
-increase all her ability cooldowns.
-decrease duration of phase shift.
-decrease distance of her portal.
wraith has the benefit of having a small hitbox as well as having the most consistent and powerful getaway abilities of all heroes, she has been at the top along with pathfinder as being the most powerful hero in the game, if other heroes are to be played she needs to be taken down a notch.

  • I agree that Pathfinder's grapple and ultimate cooldowns can be increased a little, but it's either that or range reduction, both seems too harsh since he's quite big.

Increasing the cooldown on phase shift for Wraith i'm against, it's already "extremely long" since it's about the same as bloodhound's scan, and can only be used once in a fight. Bangalore's abilities are much better to get away. (Wraith and Bang are my most played)

I think they should increase the cooldown on Wraith's portal tho, but keep the range.

I like the idea of bloodhound getting a small movement speed increase when following tracks, but this may not be useful since he'd be full sending solo while his squadmates are still way behind.

I like the idea of mirage being able to make decoys of his squadmates. Mostly one of the main issues with his decoys however is the fact they are unarmed. Your weapons are not see on the decoy which is the main reason they're so easy to spot.

If mirage's decoy ran with a weapon on the back, or in hand, it would be much better.

As for crypto, i'm not sure if the drone should have stealth, but I agree it could have like 20 health or so, 50 seems too much, it's a tiny frail drone, it shouldn't be able to take 4 R99 shots and still fly, or hell, even a Wingman 50 caliber shot, and somehow still remain functional.

    Good post tho.

  • @KrakaDrak I’m in favor except the ‘tracking line’ for Bloodhound since this makes it too easy to follow up on, this comes from a bloodhound main btw :P. I used to play a game called TheHunter: Call of the Wild where you have a similar animal tracking feature. Maybe instead of a line, it’ll show you the direction. Cause often you don’t know if you’re following the signs or going away from it until you see the color variation. In TheHunter the signs show a small arrow in the general direction of where an animal went.

Other point I don’t see is all of your mentions regarding wraith. I find her to be in a good place with her abilities. Maybe because I find them sucky overall; passive usually only indicates when someone is hard targeting you or when you’ve lost half your life already, tactical is easily followed upon and ult is just a ‘well there she is, start shooting’ ability.

All others I find very good points. Maybe not the range reduction of Pathfinder’s ult but other than that, yup, good good.
