I think the r301 has served its purpose. The r301, I believe, is the gun meant for new people. All guns have some sort of quirk to them that requires skill to handle. The r301 however, does not. Barley recoil so small it's almost non-existent, shoots fast like an re45 and the hip fire spread is not even big especially when crouch spamming. We are going 6 years in and there are still people who are good at the game using this easy gun. The only argument there is for it is that they nerfed the damage, but it doesn't matter if you are hitting all your shots. I want to mention that I'm speaking in terms of everyone in general. The skilled and the bad. Overall this gun is to easy to use. So what I'm saying is it doesn't matter if you're good or not; if you use the flatline vs r301 you're most likely going to hit more of you shots with r301 because it's so easy and more than likely do more damage and get more knocks. Even with range it has a semi-automatic, but people don't use it because they'd rather copy their favorite streamer but if you turn it on it's really good. All in all the gun doesn't fit with the rest as all guns require know-how to use while the r301 you just pick up shoot. I can't see any reason anyone would have for disagreeing so I'm curious as to how many people do while seeing how many people actually care to agree and push this. (Probably none)

@vWhite-Stone100 I think it needs a buff. It's a good gun for beginners, but unless you land every single shot I doubt you could one clip someone with it. Even in gun run unless you 2v1 someone when you have it, it's near impossible to get a kill. Could just be the hit reg problems right now though. I think the game needs more beginner friendly guns like this if it's to get new players.

There is nothing wrong with the 301. It’s the shotguns that need to be addressed.

@vWhite-Stone100Respawn has proven over and over again that they're not afraid to buff a weapon to near-invincibility or to nerf one to the point of crippling it. They know exactly who picks up which weapons and how well or poorly they use it. If they haven't changed the 301 in a while it's because it's exactly where they want it to be. And there really isn't any need to nerf it when you can just buff something else instead and create a whole new meta: like the nemesis meta of season 16 or the dual-wield meta of last season. Or this season, or whenever it was. I'm not saying that any of these thing represent a good way of dealing with the weapon sandbox. They don't. I'm just saying this is how things are in Respawnland.

@reconzeroI just went to https://apexlegendsstatus.com. Nothing about weapon pick rate or anything. Not sure how they're gonna figure out what weapons need a buff or is the new meta anyways except count every knock and kill. Unless they just see what the pros do. But again I don't just watch pros. I see how people play everyday and pay attention to what is more threatening in situations. The r301 is in top 3 at least if not 1. Side note- You reminded me how they're really bad at what they do by saying change in ranking system. Back in season 18 they changed it but there was a bug where people weren't getting points for kills in majority of matches. I was one. Funny, they made those changes to root out "rats" and make people go for more kills. But didn't even fix the issue til next season. As a result people started playing more passively and long range which is why it is what it is now. Just sitting around til storm closes in, THEN the kills and squad eliminations happen. Then people get a spot and wait. Going from "rats" to rat packs. I was diamond 1 in season 17 with a .67 k/d after 2 years of absence. In 18, I was gold 4 or 3 with a .96 k/d and more wins.Sorry for the rant after the topic, but that's why you can't just listen to anything. You gotta open your own eyes bro and see what's really going on. Again sorry for rant but that has been on my chest since 19 and 20.

You hardly one clip people (full health blue sheild-above) in the game with any weapon unless you run up on them 3rd party. The point is is that it's a threat and a problem overall in any situation. Even if you don't drop them close range you're bound to do like 150 damage then just swap and hipfire your smg or shotgun. Boom. dead in like 3 secs. Long range it's a problem because its so easy to laser you can pin people in a spot that makes them an easy target. If i decide to move ill get hit with like 120 r301 and his two teammates will cover the rest and you're down. It doesn't have to be a high kill gun it's a gun that is a pillar that can't be broken. And if they have 2 or 3 on their team using it; there's not a whole lot you can do but try and ambush them or 3rd party.

I'm just watching how people play and the situations i find myself in and how easy i crack and knock people with it myself.

It's an awesome gun imo! as @AymCTL said a great gun for beginners so I don't want to be harsh about it b/c I love New Players entering in Apex!
I don't mind getting mauled down by a 301 in that case but as you mentioned for Vets to use it in any mode prepare yourself it's going to be a ALGS Mini battle if you encounter them. Especially with the 3x/2x-4x !HOLY! Merry Christmas GoodNight Happy NewYePOW!

@MissTawnieeee How about the L-star, the double p2020, the kraber or the charged sentinel?

In fact there will always be people to complain because they don't want or understand how to adapt to the game... right now the guns are very very balanced if you don't like shotguns that means you need to learn something about them... fight at a longer range so they dont hit you as much or if you fight inside a small closed room then use one!!

@OnclePicsmurf says you. I don't just go by what the "pros" do. I watch regular people play and see what I see. The r301 is not balanced. If people would read my description you can see it's literally good in any situation that's not balanced. Every gun has some flaw. Even the rampage and spitfire are balanced because yea close range the hipfire gets smaller but the rampage is slow, while the spitfire long/medium range takes more skill to handle.
