Wasnt there something with a placeable turret in the past ? Maybe it is this 5th equipment.

That would explain why the balloon flight distance was nerfed without mentioning anything in the patch.
I called it, remember it.
I'm thinking anything mobility-related would kind of cancel out Pathfinder and Octane, right?

Unless it's jetpacks (with that I mean the jetpacks characters already have that you use while skydiving)
They would only be used when taking a jump tower. Or maybe when jumping from heights, like the watchtower at cascades.

I'm hoping it's more along the lines of stat boosts - HP, Shield, Speed, Reload Times, etc.
My guess is foot protector for better sliding stability to improve shooting accuracy while sliding downhill.
That could be the reason the accuracy while shooting downhill is sucks now.
It's cool feature like in the movie.
Could be... but do enough people use that to warrant a slot dedicated to it...? I'm not sure lol. Time will tell!

Sliding accuracy is listed as known 1.2 "new" bug. It's not a feature and will be fixed.
It might be shoe/boot so play can run faster or bunny hopping higher ? :P

Don't think it is, and I really hope it's not. I think I saw that they mentioned the traveling shorter distances from the balloon was a bug.
Attached a photo from the EA conference showing the icon for the 5th slot. What do you think? A wing?
Maybe a parachute to glide further away because currently the glide distance is not that amazing far
