Server Select Ping VS Actual In-game Ping

Hello i've been playing this game for quite a while now and i have noticed most shots against enemies wont even  register. So i thought it was my ISP issue. But when i dug into it more, i found out that the Ingame server that i picked ( 43 ms as ping) doesn't match the ingame ping . So heres how the ping looks when i have joined a game in apex legends.

I live in India and my ping to Singapore on other games is 40ms or less. But the in game ping that i get on apex legends on one of their lowest ping servers i around 255 - 139.  Any thaing i can do on my side to reduce, help would be much appreciated.

  • @Sectorax Ah the netcode topic rears it's ugly head again.

So Respawn has done us no favors with their netcode which is by todays standards 10+ years behind the current top games.

One thing to consider aside from that is how your ISP routes you to the game servers. It is definitely a combination of both that causes this issue. I suffer the same thing and while I have worked with my ISP to get to some sort of resolution we need Respawn to optimize their netcode. Which is something have done very little of since launch.

  • @Sectorax I feel those numbers represent your current ping in lobby while not being thrown into a game vs what you actually get while in game.

I know my ping is around 20-30 when I view datacenter info but in game I get about a solid 30-40 ping.

If i pick a server 35 - 45 ping i should be atleast getting around with in that range with a tolerance +10 or -10 . But the while playing i get like 135 or 255 ping which is 10 to 20 time higher than the expected ping. I feel something is going wrong in-between .Also while playing the game feels really hard when under combat like my shots aren't registering or dying behind a cover .
