Silent footsteps

It feels like all I do is complain about this game but I promise you I love playing this game and only want to see it improve for my own selfish reasons. 😇

I have had this happen a few times now and I have definitely ruled out my headset which I originally thought it was.

I now have a turtle beach elite pro with tactical audio controller which has a specific gaming / footsteps setting. It is absolutely awesome.

I can hear footsteps from about 30ft away no problem but when players are close to me (only sometimes) I don't hear a thing, they sneak up from behind and kill me

no problem.

Is this an issue for anybody else? Did I see something in the patch notes about this getting fixed? because it has not been - on xbox 1 anyway.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

@DragonsDanglers Close range silent footsteps is a known issue. I hope they fix it soon.

I've had footstep audio issues to. It has been brought up in other threads and Respawn are aware (I can't find the post, but it was posted on here that they are looking into it).

The audio is broken, bigger chance to hear enemys 100m away then an enemy running into you....

Is this going to be fixed someday, it's 2023 now and still a problem.

Let me add another, even simpler bug, that has never been fixed, being able to use the in game setting to take a screen shot. That died over 3 years ago, and they still haven't even fixed the ability to take a screen shot from the in game option...
Yep footsteps from behind, always been broke...

Hahaha, this is hilarious.... this has been a known issues for well and I mean well over the last 10 seasons or over 3 years. They know... there have been endless post on this forum alone, not including all the other platforms and forums. Respawn even at one point said they know, but can't fix it without taking the game down and doing a full redo as its all imbedded into the game files.
I personally don't believe it will ever be fixed, unless they do exactly that.... redo the entire engine. I know sound Devs that have sent emails to Respawn explaining what they believe is wrong and how to fix it... with no replies.
It is now, what it is.
