The Inflation of Movement Abilities
Since the introduction of Ash's "Blink", Apex seems to have entered a cycle of massive buffs followed by minor incremental nerfs, leading to an overall acceleration of character speed.
Undoubtedly, the greatest appeal of Apex Legends lies in the "exhilarating sense of speed" generated by its core mechanics—sliding and universal movement techniques.
However, the current state of inflation is like "taking a naturally sweet, delicious fruit and soaking it in sugar." Excessive seasoning eventually becomes an unpleasant aftertaste.
Shouldn't characters and weapons be designed to complement the "natural flavor" of the game’s core mechanics?
Naturally, characters with abilities aligned with the game's inherent strengths receive maximum benefit (buffs) with minimal additions.
On the other hand, characters designed to complement areas where the game is naturally weaker will never stand on equal footing with movement-heavy characters unless they are given an overwhelming amount of additional utility.
When certain characters are allowed to stand out this much, choosing anything else becomes a "detriment to the team" (throwing). This inevitably skews pick rates and results in a monotonous gameplay experience. It is a vicious cycle of power creep that is difficult to escape.
I sincerely hope the developers will focus on moderated adjustments that respect and highlight the quality of the game's original "ingredients."
