- @Lord_Scorpion34 I have been playing it since it dropped. No issues at all. Not much difference really other than brightness. Oh and update copying is a thing of the past.
- @hayhor Does it overwrite the current game or do I need to delete the current game 1st?
- @Lord_Scorpion34
They're separate versions, you'll delete the old one afterwards. The one issue I want to mention is that all of your settings will be reset to default. So make sure to take a photo of your ALC settings and such. - @pandareno1999 Good to know. Thanks!
The 'next gen update' has been by far the most disappointing thing for me about season 12 tbh.The characters look a little shinier on the character screens but apart from that I see no real difference graphics on any of the maps when compared to the PS4 version.I kind of expected (or more hoped) crisper/cleaner graphics with better colouring what with HR & a slightly smoother game to play but in truth there is none of that.colouring is still as murky as it ever was & dive trails are now just dark/dull colours.Much has been said about the omission of 120 FPS & the game still operating on 60 FPS & I'm not sure if it has anything thing to do with it but the game just feels quite choppy & quite rough to play at times. In fact I even contemplated deleting the PS5 version & reinstalling the PS4 version on my PS5 but have instead went back to playing Apex on my PS4 again.I've played various games that have had the PS4-PS5 update such as Fortnite,Dead by Daylight,Wreckfest,Marvel Avengers,Mortal Shell.Control,Ghost of Tsushima,Tony Hawks PS 1 & 2 etc & the difference graphically on those games between PS4 & PS5 versions are like comparing night & day but the Apex update just feels underwhelming to say the least. There was even something mentioned in the next gen update about improved audio which I seriously doubt (audio is still as bad as it ever was).
The funny thing with this much hyped & much delayed 'next gen update' is there was very little publicity about it other than 1-2 days notice prior to it coming out & very little has mentioned about it/or how it has been received by public from Youtubers such as Garrett,J.Meyels,Thordan Smash etc who just seem to be more concerned about skins & returning skins etc.I've seen a fair amount of commentors on other forums expressing their disappointment with the update as well.
- @Lord_Scorpion34 It’s pretty meh and I don’t see any difference actually. Had to turn off 3D audio since enemies seem farther away than they actually are. Who knows when 120fps will come but I don’t have a 120hz screen so that won’t affect me at all.
- @Redmattgame I feel similar to you with one exception- Dark areas it is easier to see now due to the brightness being higher.
- @Lord_Scorpion34 I have the Next Gen update on XBOX Series X, & love it. Lots more detail with a 4K TV.
Easier to see further distances as well. - @hayhor I've been forever adjusting the slider on the brightness level but can never find a happy medium either being too bright or too dark.I've even tried the various colour blind mode options & it makes no difference.
Being a bit of a glutton for punishment I tried a match of Control & Trios on my PS5 before going back to the PS4 version just trying to grind out a few pass levels & in Control there were times I just couldn't move properly particularly when aiming where I couldn't turn right or left & I had to just stand & wait to be killed & respawned & it was fine. When playing a game of Trios my character just moved slowly throughout the match & running looked like something out of the opening credits of Baywatch. The ping was stable in the low 20's so iy couldn't have been the servers & I tested my PS5 controller on various other games & it was fine so I just don't know if there is some sort of movement bug in the game or update. @Redmattgame That bug had nothing to do with the next gen update itself, or of your playing on the PS5 specifically. It would have happened on your PS4 as well. It was a result of your completing the Bangalore thing. It also should have come with a reset of your FOV to 70.
A lot of people have had trouble getting used to playing with a dual sense controller. My buddy has changed sensitivity a few times now since switching. Once I got an aftermarket PS5 controller, I spent time in the range daily getting used to it, while playing games with my Scuf still. After a few days, my hands were ready to make the transition without changing my sensitivity. Though I have changed it a bit since then. My suggestion is to try lowering your sense a bit when going to the dual sense.
