If you died while being AFK/AFC in the 1st minute of the game. You shouldn't be able to stay in game & earn points after dying while AFK/AFC.

Its a team effort and 99% of the times I die within the 1st minute its a stupid landing or extremely greedy team members. I holehartedly disagree with you, and if you choose to sit for 5-10 minutes waiting for a positive that is time you spend not playing so its punishment enough. If you get bugged by a salty copilot you can report him 😉

Just know the discussion will go the other way around as well if it takes off. AFK/AFC in general should not get anything I agree, but how do you discern that in a reliable manner. When you land in a 6 man meletrain its hardly a point touching your mnk or controller and you can just wait the 1 second it takes to be put into spectate mode.
Still we have a report button for that, and if people are reported several times they will not get any points at any rate.
- @Zkepz If you're not moving the moment we land & you're standing in the same spot for over a min what do you think that means? You're assuming I'm a Rambo hot dropper when anyone who knows me on here can tell you that is not the case. Also report doesn't work for PS & I feel reporting honestly does nothing.
I've mentioned AFK/AFC in Ranked & the game period & how they need to shorten the time the game recognizes someone as AFK but to add to that, if you die while you're inactive, you shouldn't get to come back & spectate. You should be booted from the game immediately, & given match abandoned penalty & - double RP. Cuz you shouldn't be readying up for a game if you're not ready especially in Ranked. I see you think it's unfair. But I had rounds when dropping input stops working so I have to pull everything and replug to get it working or restart the client and reconnect to the match, yes it happens especially on pc and I had a few interesting runs with pro controller back in the days on ps4. Same for people having a life kid calls so you have to run off for 1 minute and get back, normally all this goes fine as bubba but you are probably refering to people who use this to gain in every drop. When you report enough times they get a ban or removed their gain, here is where the report system should come into play. If it does not work on PlayStation perhaps that is the issue not to punish the AVG crew.
- @Zkepz No it's absolutely fair. If you leave the game for too long, you get penalized. What's not fair is when someone gets disconnected for server issues & they get penalized.
If you don't think someone should be penalized for going AFK/AFC Ranked isn't the mode for you. - @Lord_Scorpion34 Stuff happens. Sometimes my wife or kids need something. 🤷♂️
@Lord_Scorpion34 I'm not sure how not moving in the first minute is any different to not moving for a minute later in the match, as it seems its impossible for the system to determine which is an afk, a dc for points gain, or server dc followed by attempts to reconnect?
If someone was to get penalised for being afk for the first minute, then the easy way round that is to dive off map at the start of the game. Why they would go afk in the first minute deliberately is beyond me. Why even play the game if you are only going to live vicariously? Surely that isn't a serious way to progress in ranked.
Although the same could be said of 2 squad members dc immediately in the jumpship in pubs! Why do they play the game at all??
- @hayhor Ok that's well & good & the rule should still apply. Sometimes I have to take a * before the game starts. I run as fast as I can, do my business & come back. If I'm dead by the time I come back I would accept my fate.
The other day in a game I got a vault key so I wanted to go & I pinged it multiple times but the rest of the squad wasn't interested so I said F it I'll go grab the loot real quick & join up with them. Soon as I reached the vault I ran into a full team & couldn't escape & died.
I went ahead & left the game 1. Cuz I was mad at myself for being 1 of those tmsi sometimes complain about. 2. I knew they weren't going to come get my banner. 3. I was embarrassed & didn't want to deal with any potential trash talk. I took my penalty & my -48 & after 15 or so min started playing again. I held myself accountable.
Same should go for anyone who goes inactive during a match without trying to get into a safe spot 1st. If you died while away you're done. The game already penalizes you now for AFK/AFC. Issue is the time the game takes to recognize that is like a week long! It needs to be shorter. 60-120 seconds without any input from the player. The game is too fast paced for a 5min AFK time. - @Lord_Scorpion34 Get a switch, you can play while you’re on the toilet. Just kidding. Apex on that thing is one of the worst gaming experiences ever with like 540p with 15fps. LMAO.
