"Apex Badware Detected" Popup message on game launch

As shown in the attached image, every time I launch Apex Legends, I get this popup message and am unable to play.

I've recently changed the hardware configuration of my PC. I added a new storage device, an M.2 NVME SSD (Samsung 990 Plus) and swapped my GPU from a GTX 1080 to an AMD Radeon 9070 (non-XT). Additionally, I relocated the game's installation from the Hard Drive that it was originally located in, to the new M.2 SSD.

Since receiving this error message, I have repaired the game files and restarted my PC multiple times. Neither of these options have fixed the issue.

  • Hey IzumoKousaka,

This particular error means there is some other program or process still running in the background that's interfering with Apex.

It may help to try some of the programs mentioned in these threads as those were affecting quite a few others as well.

If you're not using anything there, I would try a clean boot of your system next to help figure out which program is interfering.

  • Uninstalling a different software that I've been actively using for years, alongside previous versions of Apex Legends, which worked perfectly fine with Deamon Tools installed, is ridiculous. It has not been an issue for years. The developers need to address the issue on their side. I should not have to sacrifice software that I use in order to play a badly optimized game.

  • No more replies right? Obvious no one from EA would care, guess it's finally time to just uninstall the game for good. Hope yall get the Ubisoft treatment soon enough.
