APEX CRASHES AND BROKE MY COMPUTER AFTER PATCH 1.2!!

Greetings everyone,

yesterday i downloaded the 1.2 patch, i was all good all happy, i logged ingame, i bought my dear battlepass and i was ready to play.

it just took one first match and the game suddenly crashed during a random frame, while i was picking up a devotion. no errors, no pop-ups, no way to alt+f4. the game froze my computer. i had to force the reboot through the button on my case, but the computer kept strangely loading other components instead of the OS. the reboot brought me to the BIOS, and from there i tried multiple times to force the reboot until i had to simply turn the computer off and on. from there it all started to work again.

I personally always take care of my computer like a gem and i NEVER had any crash or any error with ANY game before (including apex, before 1.2) so don't come at me, like those apex reddit randoms, telling me it's my computer's fault. the game crashed right after a big patch, what a coincidence.

i came here hoping for any EA staffer to pick up our reports and help us.

personally i'm really angry. this is the last time i buy their battlepass. what's the purpose of testing servers if a game patch is delivered like that? how is it reasonable for them to break my computer with just a patch?

here are my hardware parts, if anyone needs to know:

i7 6700

GTX970

16gb RAM

200megabytes fiber internet

Windows10

It looks like you could upgrade to the latest build of Windows 10 and your GPU could use a new driver from Nvidia's site as well. Search "Windows Updates" in the desktop search bar to check for pending updates.

Can you try updating those and let us know how it runs for you? Make sure Origin In-Game is disabled under your Origin client's Application Settings. We recommend launching the game without any other overlays or game clients running in the background the first time you give it a go.
